I would really love to be part of a beta program. It makes you feel so special, and I've never been in one. If I'm provided with a pair, I will most definitely do an honest review about it. 

So I used an SPL app, as suggested, on my phone. It might not be in accordance with the audiophile standards, but just to get a rough estimate, I used it anyway. I used 2 apps actually; both vary from each other markedly. With the higher (newer) volume setting, one app gave me a reading of 75...

Same was the case with my pair. One smooth as a baby's behind, while the other was a stubborn little guy.

It's not loudness I reckon - it's refinement or something like that.

I was kind of expecting a similar response. I used the word "most" because without doubt you can't really compare them to those inexpensive earbuds. I mean Yes, the bass is deeper with more control, rich and what not. But man, before the HD600s, I could sort of imagine what "hi-fi" (or mid-fi)...

Coming from a pair of cheapos, the thing that changes the most is maybe the treble. Gawd... Now I can't even call that treble anymore. The HD600s are the almost perfect blend of all the musical components that define the listening experience. I can't begin to comprehend what lies ahead...  ...

You can, but with an OTG cable. Android 5 (Lollipop) has USB audio baked right in from the start.

Actually, the story goes like this. I have a friend who has the Dragonfly. I briefly demoed the Dragonfly and found it to be more resolving and had better imaging. Now, he offered me a trade. My Fiio combo for the Dragonfly. I certainly liked the Dragonfly's DAC, but am not sure of the amp...

So if I add an amp in the chain, will the Dragonfly's headphone out as a perfect lineout?

Guys, I currently have the Fiio e7/e9 combo (old version) and the HD600s. Talking pure sound quality, will the Dragonfly be better than the e7/e9 and will it have enough power to drive the Senns to good listening levels?

Those were my initial thoughts. I was leaning towards Grado. Initially I was not WOWed, and that's coming from $30 cheapos. But recently, I've become enamored of the Senns and even started listening to classical and other mid-centric music.

You could've let that slip you know. :P For me, the midrange has to have body to it and be well-defined, and the treble needs to compliment the mids so well that I'm left hanging between the two on which do I like more. After seeing majority of the people going all crazy over the bass, I wanted...

Actually, bass is the least important to me out of the 3 ranges. I like a balanced/flat pair of cans.

You're on point. I'm a metalhead and mostly, recordings aren't very good. I use a Fiio E9/E7 combo (older version) btw.
