Next ipod: iPod Movie!
Y'know, you always have people complaining about having a scroll-wheel or D-pad to one side of the device, but really, I'm sure no left-handed person has a problem with using a scroll-whell or directional joystick with their right hand. It's not like it requires a lot of accuracy or dexterity, neh?- carsncars

PROTECT YOURSELF AGAINST SCAMMERS
I have whoever it is's MAC address as well, if that helps, I have all my devices accounted for except that one so that's got to be it. It's listed on my router. And... I don't think it's an IP address ban, since I'm still here. :S I have WEP encryption now but I still haven't figured out how to...- carsncars

CES 2006: The New Karma?
Nope... this is the reference model SigmaTel can use to help their developers, or to just show off their chip. Dammit. I wish they'd just throw it together and sell it themselves.- carsncars

CES 2006: The New Karma?
Via DAPReview.net: Quote: Highlight of the day: a video-interview with Hugo Fiennes at Sigmatel, the main guy behind the Rio Karma, Chroma, Avalon, Cubic, and Opel (the last 4 of which never made it to market). We got a product demonstation of Sigmatel's reference design for a player...- carsncars

zen micro fonts/settings changes
In a nutshell: it's probably possible, but there won't be many people working on trying to make it happen. It's the iPod's advantage, with such a huge user base, there's got to be a number of techies willing to devote their hours to tweaks like this.- carsncars

What color zen micro photo did you purchase? Show off its beauty, post a picture
It's 330CAD. I was just thinking if you lived in one of the closer states you could drive up for a couple days... we drive down to Portland (tax-free!) all the time. That's odd-- Future Shop here, in store, carries the red, light blue, green, black, and grey, while Best Buy carries the dark...- carsncars

Has anyone here Colorware'd their iPod???
I had my 4G Colorware'd. Turned out REALLY nice... very resistant to scratches-- it's like automotive enamel. They also coat the chrome back and screen with clearcoat to make them scratch-resistant as well... Definitely recommended. Might get it done to my 5G down the road.- carsncars

First impressions of a DAP noob
Last time I checked, FLAC was NOT a common format. Sure, it might be popular on Head-Fi, but if you polled us your results'll be more than a bit skewed. The iPod DOES have a line-out, through the dock connector. Google 'PocketDock'. It sounds like you're a Rio Karma kind of person.. gapless...- carsncars

Creative Zen Micro Photo Colours
Thanks! That's all the information I need... I've seen the red at Future Shop-- it's very nice. Deeper than it looks in the Creative press shots, which are useless.- carsncars

Creative Zen Micro Photo Colours
Help me out here... I'm debating over which colour Zen Micro Photo to grab. So far, I've only seen the red, dark blue, and grey in person... the grey and the blue are definitely ruled out-- here's what I've narrowed it down to: - black - green - red Anyone seen the green or the red? I...- carsncars

Ipod has died, looking for a replacement!(Sony NW-A3000)
The A3000, along with Connect Player, is NOT easy to use. With SonicStage 3.3, it's not bad, but you lose out on some of the newer player's features-- the Artist Link, Smart Shuffle, Smart Playlists, etc. What you could (and what I would recommend doing) is to get the A3000 and use SS3.3 with it...- carsncars

Decision-Time (Gift Card Dillemma)
I do have a compact camera... the Sony DSC-W5. And I do have a couple 1Gb memory sticks for the PSP. I would go for the RAM in an instant, but the website the gift card is for doesn't sell DDR2 notebook RAM. Got cases for my iPod[s]... I'm leaning towards the Powershot or Nintendo DS, though...- carsncars

iAudio U2 vs. iPod Shuffle: Pure SQ
Well, I'd say a screen does matter, but iTunes evens the playing ground in my books since that's what I use to manage my music. No screen with iTunes = screen without iTunes. iAudio U2 vs. iPod Shuffle: Pure SQ
Running un-amped, out of the headphone out (duh), both on a 320kbps MP3, which (in your opinion) sounds better? I'm in the market for a sweet-sounding 512Mb player right now. I'm swayed by the U2's EQ, that's for sure... I like my bass.- carsncars
