I actually ended up going with a Chromecast Audio; as I can pull down my FLACs from my NAS using BubbleUPNP on my phone and can also allow other people to easily connect to it to stream Spotify at parties etc.. I've heard some mixed reports about sound quality, but hopefully firmware updates...

Apologise for the slight hijack but I could do with some help: I'm looking at getting this card, but noticed that it doesn't support DTS encoding (though it does have DD).. I have some DVDs with a DTS soundtrack already - so does that mean that the card won't be able to pass the DTS at all...

Apogee Mini-DAC is another option.. has everything you listed and in fact I'm doing the exact thing as you, except I'm using the DAC's XLR outs to my monitors rather than going through the sub.

Anyone had probs with the shuffle function? I used to just have my whole library on shuffle in v7, when I upgraded to v8, it just shuffles the song in that album.. I've tried changing all of the shuffle options in controls -> shuffle but it doesn't seem to matter. I'm currently working around...
