Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears
I regrettably have to return my PX's again, as the button that toggles noise cancellation (rarely used in fact) has developed an issue when it no longer 'clicks' like the other buttons, and fearful this would become non-responsive over time, I have sent the second pair back. Both had the same...- Djini

Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears
No, but my 'volume down' button while registering a press, stopped 'clicking' so mine were replaced. I suspect initial batch of these had a pretty high failure rate. Call B&W up, they are super-OK about replacing faulty equipment.- Djini

Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears
Hoping this is a quick question. Had these since launch and had hoped to use them for the various phone calls I need to make at work but while the NC for me is great in the office, whoever has the unfortunate job of listening to me has to put up with uvery single sound around the whole office...- Djini

I'm pretty sure I got the updated version as I have the memory cables for the over ear placement and the mic seems low enough- Djini

Google Nexus 7 Tablet (Tegra 3)
Pre-ordered mine last night, and stuck my Cowon J3 on ebay (with some Monster Turbines) to help pay for it. I'm hoping the audio out will be good, and while the storage is just idiotic on Google's part, I will reluctantly live with it.- Djini

Cowon J3 Impressions Thread
No this is different from the screen/powersaving. The brightness dims in normal play every (roughly) 8 seconds for about a 10th of a second, then returns to it's nominal brightness. It's about 50% dim. Just tried this, even does it with the headphones unplugged.- Djini

Cowon J3 Impressions Thread
Got a question about the J3 for other owners. Does your screen's brightness dim at regular intervals (once ever 10 seconds or so) briefly (10th of a second?) the go back to it's nominal brightness because mine does. This happens at any level of charge, does not bare any relation to what is...- Djini

Just had a MASSIVE audio upgrade!
But maybe not quite what you think. Had a FREE boots hearing test, which revealed a pretty big blockage in my left ear (never noticed, apart from the wife complaining I can't hear her). They recommended a Clear Ear Clinic which I went to. Had both ears checked out (right ear was...- Djini

So I have a cowon J3 and use my new brainwavz M2 IEMs. Now, what's as good a bargain as my M2's from a cost/performance but full size and suitable for my J3? I'd love to own a set of Grado's but they are a bit pricey, because I love the classic style. Bonus points if they look like that, but...- Djini

Are iPods a no-go for audiophiles?
Nwavguy you really need to stop worrying that people googling to find which player might suit them better out of x number of playes they've narrowed things down to might get subjective (as you put it inaccurate unscientific) opinions, rather than your cold detatched scientific figures and make...- Djini

OUCH! My wallet hurts :/
I hate you all! I only come on here to find out if my new Mobile phone (HTC Desire HD) really wasn't as good sonically as the phone it replaced (iPhone 3GS). In a matter of weeks I've bought Brainwavz M2, fiio e5 (admitedly they were bundled with the IEMs), a Cowon J3 (used through...- Djini

What is the first song you play when you get new cans?
Viva la Gloria (Little Girl) (Green Day) The isolated vocals and the big bassy drum at the start help me find distortion. If it can cope with that drum/bass combo, I'm happy. Always be my baby (Mariah Carey) Background/foreground sound comparison Pass Out (Tinie Tempah) Good sound...- Djini

What makes one portable player better than the other?
Quote: nwavguy, testing a car's 0-60 does not measure one cars performance against another! It only test one aspect of performance. The performance of a car needs to measure the car's ability to perform it's function, ie fulfill it's purpose! In the car's example, that might be...- Djini

What makes one portable player better than the other?
So rate players on their own in isolation, not against each other. My second sentence is not generally wrong. You're suggesting removing from a objective opinion about a player some of it's function because you can't compare it to another player because their implementation is different (or non...- Djini

What makes one portable player better than the other?
Why is the only way of creating a level playing field turning off all EQ? You place players that have EQ at a disadvantage over players that offer none.- Djini
