Official Sony WF-1000XM3 Thread - Noise Cancelling True Wireless Earphones
Yes! Me too - finally a stable connection with my Surface Book!!! I think i'm also one of the lucky ones - the stock tips fit my ears very well. The Noise cancellation definitely isn't as good as the full size headphones though. For whatever reason The WF-1000xm3 sound signature just really...- guyverl

Are the UE Reference IEMs UE10s rebranded?
Just for fun... let's look at the evidence - I noticed the UE10s are no longer available on the UE site replaced the UE Reference - The UE Reference is the same price as the UE10s used to be.. - They both have 3 drivers - The UE Reference supposedly has the flattest, most accurate...- guyverl

Help!! Please stop me from buying the SR-71B
The convenience is the problem. If I order now then I can get the line-out for the iPhone, the amp itself *and* the balanced cables for the UE10s all at once... no hassle... plus i've never heard a balanced amp before :( :( :(- guyverl

Help!! Please stop me from buying the SR-71B
So i've been out of the headphone amp game for a while now having found bliss with the UE10s and wait for it... the Dolby Headphone DSP that came with my Vaio Z. However, recently the UE10s cable has broken on the left side. And because i'm a sensible guy came to head-fi forums after a...- guyverl

Nokia N95 Sound Quality
I did find the N82 to be rather muddy in the bass department as well as a bit lacking there too Highs were also a bit harsh but hey, it's a phone! Will do some more critical listening when my UE10s come back- guyverl

Deaf in one ear, please advise?
foobar definitely has a downmixer from stereo to mono. Get a (relatively) decent outboard DAC - like say an Edirol UA25 or Trends UD-10 and you'd probably be good to go in choosing any cans he likes! If you need the extra fi then an amp after the DAC may also be in order..- guyverl

do you use EQ?
Sony forced my hand to use the eq on the MZ-R10 - the darn mp3 implementation is rolled off on the highs! No such problems with ATRAC though- guyverl

Have anyone tried PS3 as source?
Well, i didn't mean to imply that *all* digital sources sounded the same, that was a freudian slip somewhat. i think that good implementations ought not to be so hard nowadays! Using CDs as source material is different as you may have different methods to buffer etc to reduce jitter etc etc...- guyverl

Have anyone tried PS3 as source?
I compared using the PS3 as a transport vs the Cambridge Audio 840c with the PS3 not doing any upsampling vs 840c upsampling. I felt the PS3 had a very bright sound to it while the 840c had a more full bodied warm sound. I would however, be very interested in any type of measurements as to...- guyverl

Headphones for DETAIL
I know you didn't list any IEMs in there but if you're just looking for pure detail there's *very* little that has more detail than the Etymotic ER4S or the UE10s for that matter..- guyverl

My UE10s... Dead :( :( :(
Was in a rush picking up my girlfriend in the car and put my MD player and earphones in the compartment under the handbrake - found that it was getting in the way of the handbrake so I promptly moved both MD player and UE10s to the side compartment... Opened the car door to check parking and...- guyverl

Mini impressions: Larocco Pocket Reference II!
Hehe, live in Tower Hill ( near the bridge ) and work in Canary Wharf Don't get me wrong the MicroAmp is a fine amp indeed. And when coupled with the MicroDac it is an incredibly sweet combo. Add this to the fact that they stack on each other perfectly it's a winning combo. One thing as I...- guyverl

Mini impressions: Larocco Pocket Reference II!
Mine arrived yesterday (but out of batteries now ). What can I say about the sound... absolutely crystal clear, controlled bass with just the right amount of quantity. Soundstage is very precise and somewhat wide. This is indeed one fine portable amp. I can even hear details that I couldn't hear...- guyverl

How does cable affect the soundstage?
It's bizarre. I won't pretend to know what's going on but it's most likely something to do with how accurately the signal is passed through the cable. After all, if the impedance of material used to make the material and we're passing an analog signal through it then it ought to affect this wave...- guyverl

How Effective Is the HeadRoom's Crossfeed Processor in Micro Amp, ...?
I find crossfeed to be indispensable. If you think about the extreme stereo separation of headphones then you can see that this is an inherent flaw with headphone listening. This is of course comparing it to say sitting in the middle row listening to a live orchestra and that when listening to...- guyverl

Medium gain sounds much better on Micro Amp????
Cool! So i'm not going totally insane after all... wonder if anybody from HeadRoom could weigh in on this. I was beginning to find my MicroAmp a little dull and was hankering back for my SR-71 (which I actually traded with HeadRoom come to think about it). But the much more lively sound on...- guyverl
