igrado problem
Not myself, but I have a friend that has quite extensively (he's an electrical engineer), and he's willing to help. Thanks for the thread, I'll read through it this evening. Mark- Target1

igrado problem
I would definitely like to just do a full recable. Is it much more difficult in a case such as this where I have to rip the cable out of the cans rather than just disconnect the connecters? Is there a reference as to how to do this more complicated procedure? I've looked through the sticky's...- Target1

igrado problem
Howdy, I got a set of igrados with the first run in September, and have used them heavily since then (about 2 to 5 hours per day). About 3 weeks ago I started having trouble with the right channel. It would go in and out and require me to wiggle the plug a big. About one week ago it finally...- Target1

Advice on gaming headphones
I played ET competitively for a bit around the same time I got into hifi gear. I was using a set of Senn HD 580s with a headsave Classic, and later a Gilmore Lite. In general I can say that if you want to get an amp and a set of cans and spend $400, go for a set with a big sound stage (most...- Target1

Best headphones for that are comfy enough for the gym? (Under $40-50)
Personally I just got the igrados for that exact purpose, and love them. Todd at TTVJ is offering a $10 discount if you've never purchased there before, so they come to $46 after shipping, within your budget. They are slightly big, so when I'm outside in the cold its a blessing, but when I go...- Target1

Price of stock HD650 cable
I was wondering if there were 2 versions of the stock HD650 cable. On headroom it's $35, and on the Senn website it's $11. Further, it routinely goes for $25 in the FS forum. Seems to me that the price on Headroom, and in the FS forum would be driven down by the Senn website. Target- Target1

Howdy, IMO it would be silly to get a set of SR225s or up and not get an amp. I can't really tell the difference between my 225s and my brother's 60s until I hook up the Glite. Not to say there isn't one, but it isn't more than 10%. I wouldn't spend an extra $140 on 10%. If you get the 225s...- Target1

Outputing from a receiver to a headphone amp.
Not sure if this is the best place to post this, but I figure those that read this forum are most likely to be able to help. I've set up my first real system, and I have come accross just one annoying catch. I can't figure out how to output from my receiver to my gilmore lite. I have a Marantz...- Target1

Audio/Video Receivers
Howdy, I'm about to move into my first apartment, and I've decided that my old Kenwood Receiver needs to go. It has no audio outputs, no video anything, and is pretty crappy overall. Being as I have no real knowledge of anything video, or audio outside of headphones, I was wondering if anyone...- Target1

Upgrading from HD580/SR225.
Thanks a ton to everyone. Every time I made a purchase it was slowly and deliberately with a lot of advice around here in mind. I guess that means I just did it the right way first time around. I'll start saving for a source, and see when I can put together enoughmoney. Thanks again, Target- Target1

Upgrading from HD580/SR225.
Howdy all, I have tentatively come to the decision to upgrade my current system if it is economically viable. By upgrade my system I really just mean upgrade my cans. I just purchased a Gilmore Lite, and I'm very pleased with it. Further, I'm using an older Kenmore CD player, and it suits me...- Target1

CD player modding questions.
Howdy all, I have some basic questions about modding a CD player. I have recently dug up my old Kenwood CD player. Its an oldish model (late 90s, so not that old), and its the CD-404 5 disc changer. First I was wondering if this player could me modded at all. Second, if it can, can I do it? I...- Target1

Sub $125 CD Player
How is the Sony DVP-S7000? Its listed most places as a transport. Does this mean that it has no internal DAC, and won't sound good without an external? Further, can anyone comment on its video quality vs a new DVD player with progressive scan etc. I'm really intrigued, because it can be had...- Target1

Finishing my system
So they micro DAC will turn either of my computers into decent sources? My budget is so tight because I'm going to be doing more schooling next year, and the macbook pro will be payed for by loans, making 'fun' items tough to justify. I'll do some more research on the micro DAC. Target- Target1

Sub $125 CD Player
If I go the DAC route, will it effectively turn my current Kenwood into a relatively decent CDP? I figure a $125 DAC could also be paired with my computer from time to time, so this might be a good route. Target- Target1

Finishing my system
I'm trying to decide what to do to complete the last piece of my system, the source. Currenlty I have a set of SR225s, and HD580s. I just purchased a Gilmore Lite, and I'm almost ready to leave this forum behind (until I graduate law school). I think I can maybe put $200 together, but even after...- Target1

Fixing a CD player
I'm thinking of purchasing a CD player that is in fine condition, except for the fact that it no longer plays music. Its a Cambridge d500se. The seller claims that its simply a resistor that has gone out somehwere, and that one should be able to fix it pretty easily and cheaply, but I'm worried...- Target1

Sub $125 CD Player
That cambridge audio d500se looks really intrigueing. If I can get it, and fix it cheap, is it a good deal for $100? Info on those seems to be very sparce. I have thought about getting a dac for my computer, but I would rather go the CDP route for now. If I choose to get a DAC in the future, it...- Target1

Sub $125 CD Player
I'm sure I should be able to find this with a forum search, but for the life of me it seems to be a topic that is pretty light on info. I now have a fairly good system with HD 580s, SR225s, and a recently ordered Gilmore Lite. Now, I feel that this system is being bottlenecked to some degree by...- Target1

Gym Headphones
I'd go with some used e2cs. Youc an pick them up for $40 used now because they've fallen out of favor. Can't really go wrong for that price. Target- Target1

Best jogging headphone for under $50
For under $50 you can pretty easily get a used pair of e2cs. The have recently fallen out of favor in this forum, but for $45 I think most will agree that they are pretty darn good. They isolate sound very very well, and I just got a pair for running over the Koss. Target- Target1
