Lidocaine in a sense dulls the transmission of nerve signals. While this may reduce the transmission of the tinnitus frequency, I wonder if it would dull transmission of all frequencies. I am not an ENT guy, however.

Sounds like discrete fit is just as important to you as SQ. With that in mind, the Westones really do fit nicely in the recess of the ear and don't stick out as much as the UE or the Etys. That having been said, I am a big fan of the accurate sound of the Ety. Have fun in San Francisco

The K1000s are the only phones I listen to now.

Man! That SAC K1000 amp does get hot! You guys weren't kidding. What surprised me though is that it stays hot even when the amp is switched off. I had to unplug it for the night.
