    Your Favorite Boston Area Bar/Club/Restaurant/Lounge/Hangout

Hey all you fellow Bostonian's and New Englanders out there. My friends and I go into Boston nearly every weekend and try to check out a new spot everytime, and keep a running diary of all the action. I'm just wondering if you guys had any favorite places you'd recommend checking out...

    Yay! Internship in DC!

Lived in DC for 4 years, here's my thoughts: Adams Morgan: The biggest bar and club scene in DC, a real pain in the ass to drive through on Fri/Sat nights, but lots of girls. Dupont Circle: Good restaurants, some nice happy hour places, more laid back than Adams Morgan, not as many girls...

What to do in Boston for 1 day?

I usually park at the MBTA Alewife station when I head into Boston (at the Northmost terminal of the Red Line). Convenient, gets you into the city pretty quickly, and only $5 a day for parking in a secure garage. Here's a great resource- it has all the T stops mapped out in Google Maps...

What to do in Boston for 1 day?

Boston is great, and IMO much better than New York ******, especially if you value fresh air, green grass, and clear skies in addition to the city life. Fanuel Hall, Harvard Square, Newbury Street, Quincy Market, Coolidge Corner, All Very Nice.

    First Date Ideas....

NoValidTitle- My two cents for you to take or leave. Speaking from experience, unless you really don't know her well or have only known her for a very short time, I would cut the romantic interest cord. If she's attractive and more importantly has a really cool personality as well (which I...

    First Date Ideas....

Laxx makes a really good point. The word "date" has so many connotations attached to it. Seriously, poll 50 random girls and ask them: Would you rather have a guy say: "Can I take you out sometime?" or "My friends and I go out running/salsa...

    First Date Ideas....

Ah, finally a topic I actually know a little about A few simple things, learned from guys much more successful than me with women. 1. If you don't know her very well, set a time constraint on the first date- it'll make it better for the both of you. Make plans with friends afterwards...

Charlie Brown Pathetic Plastic Christmas Tree

Any laptop HDV editors/shooters out there? Need a recommendation...

I know this is a headphone forum technically, but since the people here are by far the friendlist and helpful out of all the message boards I've ever encountered, I figure I'd post this question here. I'm venturing into the world of HDV for the first time, and am looking for a desktop...

    Foobar 0.9 out!

Does anyone know if a volume control slider plugin is available for this version? Also, does anyone know where I can find the foo_shuffle plugin for 0.8.3? I am trying to reinstall that version of Foobar and can't seem to find that plugin available for download on the web. Thx, Ron.

    CM7Ti Vs E4C? (After testing E3C).

The CM7Tis have great clarity and treble extension for earbuds. The only thing they don't have is bass. They also are pretty forgiving on bad recordings. Overall, if you have the money, and sound quality is the number one issue, these are the earbuds to go for.

My 8th Headphone: Audio Technica ATH-ES7 (w. mediocre pics)

A quick question- Do you think the ES7s provide enough isolation so that there won't be any mic bleed when overdubbing tracks in the studio? Thanks, Ron

    My Grado SR80 SR125 SR225 MS-1 MS-2i HF-1 Mini Round-up in Q&A Format

Again, these are just my own impressions. They were also made under "good listening conditions," using a portable source, studio monitoring headphone amp, and a highly-rated $1100 tube CDP/amp. I think it just comes down to the fact that you have a lower tolerance for treble than I do. So to...

    My Grado SR80 SR125 SR225 MS-1 MS-2i HF-1 Mini Round-up in Q&A Format

Gotta respectfully disagree with Cheesebert- if he's referring to the OVERALL sound quality of each phones, then the order is understandable... but with the soundstage, the HF-1's is definitely narrower than the MS-2i's and slightly narrower than the SR225s (due to the extra weight of the...

    My Grado SR80 SR125 SR225 MS-1 MS-2i HF-1 Mini Round-up in Q&A Format

The HF-1 has a more powerful low end than anything from the SR-225 down. I would call it more rounded than bloated, especially compared to a pair of cheap Sonys. I would have to say the soundstage falls somewhere like: SR80/125 < HF-1 < SR225

    My Grado SR80 SR125 SR225 MS-1 MS-2i HF-1 Mini Round-up in Q&A Format

MD1032, For me it's tough to equate the levels of "highs" purely with level of "harshness." For example, to me the SR80 does not extend as high as the SR125 or MS-2i, but it is "harsher" in the treble. Personally, if I were to equate "harshness" with fatigue: To rate individually just on...

    My Grado SR80 SR125 SR225 MS-1 MS-2i HF-1 Mini Round-up in Q&A Format

MasZakrY - They don't require an amp to sound good, but they will benefit from a nice tube amp. You will get a more "refined" sound and remove some very slight graininess from the uamped sound. mrarroyo - Yes, I was the one who just bought these from you earlier this week. I do agree and...

    Alessandro MS-1 Vs. Grado SR80's

If I only had to choose between the 2 unamped, I would take the Alessandro's but get a pair of bowl pads. With a decent amp, I would actually take the SR80s. In reality, I would I take neither and pay slightly more for a used SR125. Though many feel that the MS-1 is better than the SR125, I find...
