Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread
Nice to ear, although the hd700 has a resonance problem for sure. What were your thoughts when going back to the hd600? Eq-ing the hd700 helps for sure. Detail-wise the hd700-driver is the better, also much more modern. That's also the reason why it was used in the hd660s.- interface95

The Headphone Driver Pics Thread
Obviously tuning headphones is more difficult than tuning loudspeaker, because you have to take into consideration many more aspects like the transfer function of our ears. Or even the resonance of the air volume between the ear and the driver. Said that, all of these effects are even more...- interface95

I could suggest to make the meeting at the TU in Graz if there is no possibility at the TU in Vienna. On weekends, there is no problem for me, getting a room. I just don't know, if someone is interested in coming to Graz for the meeting- interface95

These cans are tuned nicely. You will mess up the FR with swapping the pads (like it happens almost all the time, especially with closed hp)- interface95

Neumann NDH 20
They may stated this, but the design is obvisously touched by modern Sennheiser products, no wondern since Neumann is part of the Sennheiser GmbH. It also would not make sense if both sub companis totally develope their own drivers. For example: the driver from the HD700 and the HD660s was...- interface95

Neumann NDH 20
Hello everyone, nice thread discussions going on here. Little bit basic but nevermind. What I really would be interested in, are informations about the driver of the NDH 20. I wonder if they really made a completely new one, or if they redesigned the one of the HD700 and also the HD660, since...- interface95

The Sennheiser HD580 Impressions Thread
The HD58x use the same driver as the HD598 not the one from HD580. The HD6xx uses the driver from HD580, HD600 and HD650 althogh the sound from these three headphones is tuned a little different. Keep the HD580. I own a Made in Germany 2nd gen one and it's my all time favourite. I also own...- interface95

The original cable costs 99$ at Sennheiser. For comparison: the hd600 cable costs 9.5$ I can't imagine that the cable is limiting the sounds. It even should be better than any 30$ aftermarket cable.- interface95

Of course I'm not going to start discussing if expensive cable are worth it. But removeable cables also have cons, for example a loose connection, which can't happen at a hard wired system. The money to change fix wired cable for several times will be much less than to do a cable mod.- interface95

3D printed closed headphones with HD800 driver
Wow, nice thread, just found it. I'm going to do something similar with the hd700 drivers which don't sound so nice in their original housing. But when they put it in the hd660, I thought they can't be too bad. Arriving upcomming week, I'm interested how they will perform in my prototype :wink...- interface95

Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread
I own hd580 which is basically a hd600 and the pads are almost as worn as the pads from BrokeSkoolBoi, but I'm not going to change them. They sound great, much better than any new ones. Some friends told me the same. Why do you think the sound get worse?- interface95

The Beyerdynamic DT880 Discussion thread
Unlike speaker, where the most sound shaping part is the driver, when you go to headphones, the whole driver environment is very importing. Talking about the housing, filter inside and ofc the pads. I bought used dt880 in bad condition sounding terrible, but I figured out, that there where 770s...- interface95

Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread
I do own the hd600 and I don't like them too much as well. Why not try to mod your hd700? For example, I found someone posting who made his hd700 pads thinner. Try to push your headphone towards to your ears and see ifyou like the sound more like me. If so, you can try to go for the mod, your...- interface95

Yeah, that's would would be the best way and also what I just did. The funny thing is that I am listening to a hd700 right now. I totally forgot that I know someone who ownes one. I like the sound, but even more if I push te cups towards to my head. Boomy bass and treble peak (or overdamped...- interface95

Okay. to be honest, I didn't go through he whole thread, to be even more honest, I've only read about 10-15 pages and all I got is that how subjective headphones are. Maybe someone can relink a bigger review, that would also be nice.- interface95

Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread
Hello all, since I only heard the HD700 once for a short time and saw the price, I haven't thought on an active community on this headphone like this one. The Beyerdynamic DT880 Discussion thread
The strange part is that these pads are made for 770 and 880 but those headphones use different pads since one is opeope and one is closed. A 880 with 770 pads sounds muddy as hell without any highs and a dt770 with 880 pads has no bass at all. So how can those pads be meant for both headphones...- interface95

The Beyerdynamic DT880 Discussion thread
Since the dt880 has the factory one and a lot of filt for damping reasons inside, I think the thin fabric of the dekoni pads will not make any difference. You should let the original in place. But other than that, pads have a huge impact on the sound of a headphone especially of half-opened...- interface95

Very nice revire of both. I own both too and I do agrea with your thoughts. I do like the bass of the 2nd gen one. But consider the impact of different pads. I have tried hd600 pads on my 2nd gen hd580 and it just sounded like the 3rd gen hd580. I don't know if they have totally different pads...- interface95

hd25-1 impressions thread
I got a second hd25 a month ago and an amperior like a week ago. My first hd25 is made in Germany, so it's very old. Second one is made in Ireland but has the older plug so also not that new. However, the older one has less but tighter bass which either I am used too or is just perfect :D The...- interface95
