building some DIY speaker wires....
sorta anyway. went to lowes the other day, picked up a bunch of THHN 14g wire, just ordered a bunch of techflex as well, already have heatshrink, not going to use banana plugs, they will actually cost more than wire + techflex, and won't benefit me any other than looks. here is my question...- brschmid

HELP, Millet Amp is buzzing

quiet beeping in the background of my Millett.
wow, this new layout is different, anyway..... Anyone have any ideas, i have it hooked up to my computer and i wonder if my soundcard isnt the source of the problem. when the sound is muted i can hear it, but when i have the sound on, it is covered up. i will try another source tomorrow...- brschmid

I need a new soldering iron
I finally decided after all my troubles on Friday nite trying to finish my millett, the iron is my problem. I probably have a lot of cold-solder joints. I just want a good 25watter, with good tips. My ratshack 25w is good, but the tips are horrible. also, where to buy a good iron?- brschmid

I have some questions about millett final assembly
my sockets came today, finally. so i soldered everything together to find out my switch doesn't work, and the other one i have doesn't shut off for some reason, so i need a new switch. the volume is really low, there are no solder bridges anywhere. 1. what switch do i need, does it need...- brschmid

pics of my 1/8" to 1/4" adapter
Well here it is: I used a switchcraft 1/4" plug and mated with a 1/8" jack. it turned out pretty good. if you want the part numbers, i can find them, i don't know them off hand.- brschmid

What is so bad about monster cables?
I am dismantling one that i took out of my car. What should my next project be?
I have built a CMOY and a MINT. I am open for suggestions. cost will be the issue, try to keep it resonable 200.00 or less. The amp is for use with my k271's. I don't think the MINT is quite powerful enough for them, and I want an amp i can plug into the wall (A/C) to sit on my desk.- brschmid

I need high quality 1/8" jacks
I need some new 1/8"(3.5mm if you prefer) jacks. I bought some from digikey that are ok, but not that great. the input one is getting loose.
