Why don't you try to go to some meets so you can hear a couple of these different amps? Let your ears be the judge

I know this decision is just killing you. Maybe someone will loan you a PPA or PIMETA for a modest fee or favor or something?

If I had one I'd loan it to you

if there were any meets in my area, that would be an option.

Well, you can't get a PPA for less than 300, so that's out of the picture.

I presume you want to build these amps yourself (or are looking for a DIY design)? Otherwise you'll get more responses in the Amp forum.

Anyway, if you skimp around on a few things and find good deals on parts, you could maybe build a PPA for under $300.

there is an amp that a fellow member make PCB's for that looks promising.

I have made that one, you can indeed do it for under $200. Pretty nice little amp. Jamont has also made one, so a search will bring up some further info on it.
