What do you think about artists who add record crackling noises to tracks?
I think they (those who use it) would call it artistic license. And that's true, but I don't have to like it or buy it. Vote with your wallet. If you don't like it then don't buy it. If you like it then go for it.- holdendebeans

The Nine Inch Nails discussion thread
Had to stop by one of the NIN threads. I was listening to "Disclipline" this morning from The Slip. Streaming 24/96 > Squeezebox > Darkvoice 337 > JVC HP-DX 1000, not extremely loud mind you, but I swear the bass drum beat made my ass buzz. You gotta love 'em.- holdendebeans

Hmm Reloaded (twice) same result. I'm not complaining because it sounds really good but I'm still curious about bit-perfect. Maybe I'll try my old XP machine and see what it sounds like.- holdendebeans

It's very hard to hear the difference between 24/96 and 16/44 in my opinion. Or should I say with my ears. A fair amount of credit goes to the recording and mastering techniques. Chesky records is famous for their painstaking efforts in this regard and I believe that this site was started by...- holdendebeans
