NO for both. I don't use the DB at all, have never initialized it, and only navigate by folder-tree. YES. YES. OFF. NO. 0s. 0s. As I said above - had no db to begin with. This had no effect. Database is still being built. Need to get some sleep, but will report back. So far the...- bilditup1

I'm also using foobar2k with a particular scheme so that it preserves the existing folder structure. You'll run it once for a few hours on a multicore machine (I also have around 20k FLACs). Thereafter, additional conversion will of course be quick.- bilditup1

Yes. I can dual boot, but have the 'forward button acting as select' issue. Maybe it's a hardware revision thing - which would mean there are more than two - or maybe a build quality thing. Either way, it's sent me back to my Clip Zip. Nope. That isn't it. I can dual boot, but also suffer from...- bilditup1

Yeah, it would be nice if people could offer some clarity on this by sharing their experiences. So far I count three of us- bilditup1

I know you weren't asking me, but fwiw mine are not. But, I also appear to have an older revision, so dual boot works for me.- bilditup1

Yeah, I have the same problem. It was so intolerable I went back to my Clip Zip. I also asked around in this thread to see if others were still having this issue, but nobody responded. I'm on the same version as you, IOW, the latest one. It could be a faulty hardware revision or something I...- bilditup1

Hey all, Anybody know if the intermittent ''fwd button acts as select/play" issue, as described here: http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=51139.60 was ever fixed? In the meantime I've reverted back to using a Sansa Clip+ but I'd like the option of using the more powerful amp/line out of...- bilditup1

Re the embedded artwork issue, it appears that the largest an embedded jpeg file can be before the skipping symptoms manifest in Rockbox is 45.6KiB. (I haven't actually confirmed that, but 45.8KiB definitely doesn't work. 45.7KiB might, but it's hard to generated jpgs of arbitrary size. In any...- bilditup1

I was initially having the same problem ("no partition found") with a 200GB SanDisk card that had been used without issue before. The *only* thing that worked was using guiformat, but setting the sector size to 64 KiB, *not* 4 KiB, or any other size for that matter. (This was the case, btw, on...- bilditup1

Reply to review by 'bilditup1' on item 'CEntrance DACport Slim'
Alright, solid review anyway! It sounds like this one doesn't run as hot - the OG DACport got scorching, so I'm glad the design changes dealt with that. Thought at the same time the original DACport had a max output of 1.5W, so obviously there was a tradeoff, heh.- bilditup1

Curious, have you tried the original DACport? I'm wondering how it would compare.- bilditup1

"Be wary there are 4 models of the Dt990: 32ohm, 250ohm, 600ohm." That's only three - you forgot (I guess) to list the 250ohm Pro (vs Premium).- bilditup1

Android phones and USB DACs
It supports whatever the phone supports. If the phone supports you DAC, all audio should automatically be routed through it, including the audio from whatever music player it is you're using. If your phone DOESN'T support your DAC, USB Audio Player Pro (= UAPP) could provide support for it - but...- bilditup1

I've been using GoneMAD music player. Has good folder navigation. I suppose BubbleUPnP would also work - I don't really use it for local playback but it works well as a DLNA Renderer. No reason to believe it won't work well for local stuff as well!- bilditup1

HotAudio Dac Destroyer works. It's small and light though the form factor leaves something to be desired, and only does 16/48.- bilditup1

Android phones and USB DACs
Heh, you know, I figured, what the hell, and plugged my uDac2 without a powered hub into my Moto X a few minutes ago. Ended up working like a charm! So I do hope this is in fact just a Samsung design flaw. But people should still be careful, in general, not to try DACs that have a power hungry...- bilditup1

Android phones and USB DACs
I'm not sure if there's a Moto X list in this thread, but I have used mine with a HotAudio DAC Destroyer and an Aune T1 (Mk1) without issue. Dragonfly (v1.0) wouldn't work without the USB Audio Player app. I'm scared to use it with my uDac-2 lest the phone get burnt out like my old GSIII. ...- bilditup1

This happened to last year when I attempted to connect a uDAC-2 to my old VZW GSIII via an OTG cable. Samsung ended up replacing my phone as well. The peoples should be careful.- bilditup1

Senn HD 558 vs Fidelio X1 vs HiFiMan He 400
Yeah, I can't recommend the DT990 at today's prices. The going price was much closer to $300 just a few months ago. I guess Beyerdynamic stepped in and 'set' a new minimum price among its authorized dealers. At $150, even I'm curious about the Pro version. I like its styling a lot more, that's...- bilditup1

Senn HD 558 vs Fidelio X1 vs HiFiMan He 400
So you know, I'm not sure we're all talking about the same thing. The DT990 Pro is not the same as the DT990 Premium, and even that comes in 32,250,and 600 ohm flavors. My only experience is with the 600 ohm version, and I've heard that the others are less bright- bilditup1

Senn HD 558 vs Fidelio X1 vs HiFiMan He 400
I have tried the DT990 with at tube DAC (Aune T1 mk1 with Soviet Voshkod 'Rocket Logo' and Amperex USN-CP-7308 tubes, among others) and it did in fact take the edge off a bit. Not enough for me to like it though. I don't own and have never used a tube headphone amp to comment either way on that...- bilditup1
