Need Assistance Regarding Driver Flex
So I recently figured out that every dynamic driver earphone I've used has given me driver flex, and it's come to a point where earphones are pretty much unusable. A couple months ago, I acquired a pair of Creative Aurvana 3's, a dual balanced armature, and received absolutely no driver flex...- Extra

Lets Talk Metal
Just finished this one up. Best way I can describe it is Atmospheric/Post Grindcore, and it's incredible. Definitely give it a chance if Grindcore isn't usually your thing. -
Lets Talk Metal
Anyone who hasn't listened to this should really get on it. Tied for my metal AOTY along with Ulcerate's Vermis. -
Q701 impressions thread
Thanks for the response. I'm going to see if I can audition a modded Q701 with the previously mentioned amps, as while I don't own the Q701, I know someone who would probably be interested in modding it (the only thing he complains about is the bass response), to see what each sounds like. It'll...- Extra

Q701 impressions thread
Thanks, I have preferred tube amps to solid states for the ones I've tried for the most part, although I'm open to either. Does the E18 drive the Q701's well? A transportable option would always be interesting.- Extra

Q701 impressions thread
Interesting, thanks. Do you think a solid state (Magni&Modi) or tube (Aune T1,Hifiman EF-2, etc) would be better with the mod? I tried it on an original Schiit Asgard, Magni, Aune T1, Hifiman EF-2, Fiio E12, and a JDS Labs Objective 2, and liked the sound of the T1 the best, though I fear it's...- Extra

Q701 impressions thread
Hey, I've got a quick question on the Q701's. Does this bassport mod just add a bit of midbass to the sound, or help with extension/impact as well? I heard a properly amped unmodded Q701 and loved it for it's mids and highs, excellent for the music I listen to most (Live rock/prog rock/post rock...- Extra

The Beyerdynamic DT880 Discussion thread
Interesting, thanks. By a clean amp, do you think a solid state would be better? I know tube amps tend to color sound a bit, especially the budget/mid-fi ones.- Extra

The Beyerdynamic DT880 Discussion thread
How does the W1000X's treble compare to the DT880's? I really enjoyed the sound sig of the DT880's when I listened to them, especially in the upper regions, but for isolation purposes open/semi open headphones don't really work for me.- Extra

The DT880's are more neutral where the the DT990's have a more V-shaped sound signature.- Extra

The x1's sounded a bit dark to me when I tried them, so I don't think those would do you good. If you have an amp/DAC I'd say the DT990/600. I haven't heard the D5000's, but the D2000's sounded similiar to the 990's with a heavy but detailed bass response, slightly recessed mids, and a north of...- Extra

V Moda M80 or LP2??
For pop/kpop the M100's will sound much more exciting, with a bigger and harder hitting bass response, and if you have smaller ears, probably more comfortable. I personally preferred the M80's when I had both, but for Pop the M100's would be a better choice IMO.- Extra

MrSpeakers Alpha Dog Revealed! - The World's First Production 3D-Printed Headphones
Hey, I plan on purchasing the Alpha Dogs soon, but I just have a few questions on amping them. I have an around $500 budget, and was considering the ALO PanAm. Would this be a reasonable amp/DAC for them? I was also considering going balanced, and looked at the Ibasso PB2/DB2. Would this drive...- Extra

Most underrated and overrated headphone? For a bit of fun :)
Underrated: AIAIAI TMA-1 Studio. Properly amped, these are some of the best cans for electronica if you're not a basshead. Great for artists like Autechre and Boards of Canada. The Klipsch S4 ii is also underrated for sound, build quality is lacking though. Overrated: V-moda M100. I enjoyed...- Extra

V-MODA Crossfade M-80 Reviews
Just re-picked these up at Radioshack for $40. I was originally one of the first to pick these up, but ended up selling them off after a couple months. Been using IEMs ever since but I think that's about to change, as I forgot how much I enjoy these. Very happy at the price vs. what I originally...- Extra
