Aroma Audio A100TB
Sorry for the late reply, don’t come around these parts much these days. You mean the plugs? Hmm not sure, I’ve seen them online, you could Google it. I’d say just get the Aroma one if you are planning to use it with the A100TB. It’s compact, well-made and frankly, the differences I’ve...- efftee

Seemed there's a sudden re-interest in Storm, had a few PMs so thought I just share my short reply in public — Been a while since I listened to Storm. It’s neutral-to-warm, monitor like, rather balanced but very listenable/enjoyable. Great resolution, micro-details and good all-rounder. Doesn’t...- efftee

I think there is a difference what dynamics mean in music interpretation and music reproduction. Loads of nuances when artistes express a composition, even from the same artiste at different time -- Gould on the Goldberg variation in 1955 and 1980. When it comes to playback of recorded music, I...- efftee

I have been considering the LPGT Ti for a while. Other than the Lotoo quirks, especially with SD cards, something I find myself mired in recently with challenging DAPs. I appreciate that the Ti is brighter, tighter and better dynamics, by your description, just like the 3Max and 3Max Ti, if I...- efftee

Certainly got me thinking. Dynamics, by my interpretation is an important factor in the presentation of music, and I think it is the aggregate result of the entire audio chain, from source to transducer. In addition to the increased 'volume change over time', I would refer the Microdynamics...- efftee

The commercial IEM is not yet made so all we can see now is the pre-production sample, shown here with the 4-wire Mira. This shell is aluminum but the final one will be chromium-plated titanium with gold-plated faceplates. Oh and that is the actual bespoke Todah case.- efftee

Different beasts. If by 'reference', you mean you are using Jewel for critical listening, then IMO, Storm is more competent. By my biased standards, it scores highly on technicals — resolution, details, separation/layering, accuracy (tone/timbre), balance, PRaT, which for me are just what...- efftee

I’ve heard the final pre-production unit, the exact same pair at London Canjam, had a few dirty weekends with it even 😆, on the 4-wire Mira, stock is 2-wire. IMO, Storm is all about accuracy (albeit with a tiny cuddle of warmth), resolution (details for good or bad, separation/layering) and...- efftee

You'd be pleasantly surprised in that small package, probably cuz Hifiman has had a fair amount of experience making amps too. Odin seen below with the new Eletech O2L was a piece-a-cake, and it drives the DC Ti and Annihilator well enough though both are quite power demanding. On the Aroma...- efftee

Heard from the boys that worst case, they may send the production sample so those attending Canjam could still demo the Storm, albeit not the actual commercial piece. 😊 Better than nothing, I suppose.- efftee

I think you’ve missed my point. The absolute cost is still a hurdle; if you cannot afford it, you cannot afford, regardless of the justification! But if you could, then perhaps it's good to know where your money is going to. Well, on technicals, Storm exceeds Traillii and Jewel -- better resolution, more natural imaging and...- efftee

Not sure demos or a Euro tour is on the card, but my understanding is Elise Audio would cover the Euro-zone that the UK isn't part of anymore. 😉 Yeah, you missed a listen! But you're in SG, you'll be able to listen to a commercial demo soon enough. 😊 Oh no where close to the complexity of...- efftee

It's a shame that it is so expensive really. That said, I know how much goes into making it, crazy high. This is the pre-production sample, of course. The final IEM, on true-recessed 2-pin connectors, will be Chromium-plated black with 18K Gold-plated faceplate, Storm-deco laser etching. I've...- efftee

Sorry, I think there's some miscommunication here. You said you listened to the T2 "at CanJam Chicago. T2 bested them all, wasn’t even close". LP6 Ti 199 -- The Most Expensive and Technical Advanced Portable Player on The Planet?
If you like the R2R sound, your music a little warm and forward, there's nothing better than an LP6 TI or 7AE at the moment, if you can live with the spartan UX/UI. The 7AE is tuned a bit mids forward, like being right in the midst of the singer/musician, otherwise, not much in it between the...- efftee
