PC earphones gain static noises over time
Hi, Recently upgraded to a mini-itx build with the MSI Z270i gaming pro carbon motherboard and onboard sound, it was a bit of a disappointment coming from a normal full size tower and a dedicated sound card - Creative X-Fi Titanium HD which was amazing. I've noticed that my earphones would...- ich1ban

IE80 again or upgrade?
Sorry mate, I meant the nozzle. I ended up just supergluing them so they don't twist off easily, although the rubber/glue substance that was inside previously that prevents it from twisting off is gone now. Not sure if this has degraded the audio quality or seal etc. Ended up just buying...- ich1ban

IE80 again or upgrade?
Hey all, After exactly 5 years, my IE80s are very worn out and the eartip twists off easily - though probably easily fixable if I just superglue it a bit as it twists back on fine and doesn't come off if I twist it counterclockwise off. Previously it was held by some rubber on the inside so...- ich1ban

Best IEM's for gaming/music
Was in your position 2 years ago, tried quite a few IEMs for gaming. Ended up with the Sennheiser IE80, completely beats everything else I've tried for soundstage, has decent clarity and fairly good bass for a pair of IEMs.- ich1ban

Audio-Technica IM50, IM70 Discussion Thread
Just purchased the IM70s, hope they were a good buy, need something for work that is better than the EPH100s and ATH-CKM500s that I'm using now. Currently have the IE80s that I use at home and nothing I have really comes close, hope these do a better job than the others!- ich1ban

Review of Audio Technica ATH-IM01, ATH-IM02, ATH-IM03, ATH-IM04, ATH-IM50, & ATH-IM70
Thinking about getting the ATH-IM70, currently own the IE80, EPH100 and ATH-CKM500 and some other cheaper ones and nothing really comes close to the IE80 that I use.- ich1ban

Sennheiser IE8 Impressions Thread
Are those just heat shrink wrapped at the input ends where it connects to the IE80? I think it'd be much sturdier if they used the actual plastic connectors.- ich1ban

headphone extension cable
I have the same problem, bought silver galaxy cable then realized I was using my IE80s through a 3.5mm extension cable that I took from my YAMAHA EPH-100s. The extension cables from them don't appear to be too bad but it sort of defeats the purpose of buying a silvery galaxy cable if I'm...- ich1ban

Sennheiser IE80's Impressions Thread
Quote: Yep it has more bass, you'll need to try them to experience what it's like. I can't say whether you will prefer the EPH over the IE80s or not without you trying them yourself. For many others and myself, The EPHs are inferior in every aspect, not that they're bad...- ich1ban

What other IEMs are similar to the IE80s in terms of soundstage and bass? Preferably around the same cost as well.- ich1ban

Yamaha EPH-100
Lol seems like this issue with the sound disappearing from one side of the earpiece due to moisture or whatever that I reported when it first came out isn't a so called "myth" as some users were claiming it to be.- ich1ban

Just got the Galaxy silver cables. Don't really notice a difference between this and stock. Cable looks a lot more durable, however the connector that connects to the earpieces are just 2 pins with rubber around it, whereas the stock ones are 2 pins with hard plastic. It looks as if...- ich1ban

I play my IE80s out of my computer with a Titanium-HD soundcard which I think has a built in amp, definitely sounds a tiny tiny bit better when I played them through my onboard audio. Doesn't require an AMP/DAC unit though as I play it out of my iphone and still sounds almost identical.- ich1ban

Hey guys, Can anyone recommend replacement cables for the ie80s? the rubber on mine have begun to break on the right side tip. Would it be better to buy 3rd party replacement cables or just get another sennheiser one by contacting them? I'm happy with the stock sennheiser ie80...- ich1ban
