This is a really great question. I would check out Yes - especially if you are really into Laterallus and like the melodies/harmonies of the Beatles.- progrockrob

I love this tune - but for me Yes and KC are unbeatable in the early- to mid-70s. I like Gentle Giant just as much. Those three are my prog rock "Holy Trinity". :)- progrockrob

Sorry, couldn't help myself...but seriously, one of the best (i.e., worst) album covers of all time. And apologies for the first post overload - with several selections deviating from the "essence" of prog. If it got lost in the shuffle, at least check out Ciccada:- progrockrob

KopaneDePooj - thanks so much for posting that Malady album. I really dig the prog influences, instrumentation, and production. Top notch - def my fave of 2018 thus far. First time post, so I figured I would share some albums/tracks that either aren't mentioned on the thread or are mentioned...- progrockrob

Focal Elear - Impressions Thread
yeah - i think for me it was the setup. (sidenote: wonky=uneven). I auditioned them at a store that only had the marantz dac/amp as a source. also, i only made it through a bit of the beck-sea change SACD with them. for whatever reason, i have really sensitive ears right around 1kHz, and the...- progrockrob

Why are SZ2000's so expensive now?!
exactly: no more production means limited supply. mix that with high demand, and prices skyrocket. plus they're pretty unique - i'm auctioning mine right now on eBay - might be a bad move but honestly they just don't fit by big noggin very well... :L3000:- progrockrob

Focal Elear or Mr Speakers Aeon Flow Open?
anyone do a A/B/C comparison with the AFO, Elear, and Elex? I'm torn between the three (and the Audeze LCD-2C...) :)- progrockrob

Focal Elear - Impressions Thread
i think the mids sound wonky on the Elear - especially when compared to the DT1990. audeze lcd-x or xc would do you pretty well. you could also try the lcd-2c - haven't heard those yet though...- progrockrob

Burson Soloist
i think Magni 3 to Soloist is a good move. I was using a Yulong DAC/amp with my LCD-2F 2016 and upgrading to the Burson made a big difference. They need that juice! :)- progrockrob
