Broken iBasso D4? Help?
A few weeks ago I sent my D4 to iBasso for repairs (under warranty). Got it back a week after that and everything is working well. Fast shipping and great communication from iBasso. They only replaced the the USB port. Stef32, I guess your only option would be to replace the USB port yourself or...- solidsnake

Broken iBasso D4? Help?
Hi So before I send this little guy back for repairs, I'd like to see if anyone can help me for free here. THE PROBLEM: Upon slight movement, the USB connection cuts out entirely - power and audio. The blue light goes out. If switch is set to "Battery", the device stays on, but...- solidsnake

My portable amp/dac hasn't budged in months, worth it to sell and get a desktop amp/dac?
So, about 6 months ago I got an iBasso D4 for my Denon D2000. I took it on a few trips, but lugging it around was more of a pain in the a** than I thought it would be. And not just the amp, but the headphones too. Anyways, thats a different story. Now, the amp hasn't been outside the house in...- solidsnake

Beats By Dre: The Secrets
I'm not a fan of hip-hop and "mainstream" music either, but I would say that the only genres you can rightfully call 'not music' are the more-than-not synthesized / computer generated / techno or whatever. Sure, sometimes its fun/catchy to listen to, but I sure as hell wouldn't call it music...- solidsnake

If this is what I think about the D2000, what should I try next?
Thanks for the tips, I'm hoping that the DT880s aren't as sibilant as the DT990s, D2000 level sibilance is about my limit. This is the third time you've replied to me suggesting your famous EQ haha In fact I have a preset saved in Foobar called "Ham Sandwich". It does sound better, I have...- solidsnake

Would any of Beyerdynamic's headphones fit my description (in terms of sound)? Because I really like the physical aspects of all of them. Single entry, robust design.- solidsnake

If this is what I think about the D2000, what should I try next?
I'll try to keep this straightforward. I've had the D2000 for 6 months and I'm beginning not to like them, I would appreciate it if you could help me narrow down a few options for #2. I do enjoy the sound of the Denons, but they're not quite perfect for me. The bass is great, just enough...- solidsnake

I bought the Denon AHD2000 headphones, and I have questions
I use my D2000s with an iBasso D4 Mamba. The bass became tighter, punchier (but still the same amount of impact), the mids were brought forward a tad, and the treble became noticeably more extended (and a bit more sibilant) but still tolerable to my ear. It didn't really "fix" the recessed mids...- solidsnake

Getting the HD-555 headphones again, amplifier suggestions?
darn, did you already get the 555? i guess nobody told you about the 558 announced a few days ago. the only amps i can think of under $40 are fiio and cmoy, but i don't think the difference will justify the price.- solidsnake
