Dragonfly Red low volume issue
It's an easy fix for audioquest to set the default to maximum, they've known about this issue for ages, it's even in the physical manual. I believe it just audioquest not wanting to take the risk as full volume would shaft your ears like nobody's business.- Pindi

Noble Audio Dulce Bass
Thanks. I've no worries about the se846 fitting well, I'm just wondering how heavy the bass is. From what I've read, the Dulce Bass sound signature is damn near perfect for what I'm after so I might have to try and demo a pair somewhere. Failing that, I guess it's the SE846. I think Amazon...- Pindi

Noble Audio Dulce Bass
I was thinking about the se846. Any idea on what the bass is like compared to the dulce bass? After years of the se535, I'm after something that really hits hard while maintaining the clarity of a high end iem and the dulce bass seemed to fit the bill perfectly. I've heard bad things about the...- Pindi

Noble Audio Dulce Bass
Hi, My Shure SE535 recently gave up on me so I'm in the market for a new pair of earphones. I was thinking of custom Noble Dulce Bass but by the time I get them back from Noble, after VAT and import charges (I'm in the UK), I could be looking at around £1200 whereas the universal ones will run...- Pindi

Dragonfly Red low volume issue
thanks Grimbles. I've come across UAPP workarounds before but I'm wary of accidentally maxing the volume one time and blowing my eardrums out. I just wish it'd work by itself. It's crazy that Google would remove this from Android- Pindi

Dragonfly Red low volume issue
In case anyone is interested, the pixel 2 XL suffers from the same issue. I guess audioquest only fixed it for very select handsets- Pindi

Dragonfly Red low volume issue
Apologies for bumping a 6 month old thread but has anyone managed to get around this issue (aside from the BenKatz method)? I'm getting a Pixel 2 XL in the next couple of days and as that's usb audio only (wireless aside), I'm hoping this may be fixed but was wondering if anyone had any...- Pindi

Source with wireless headphones
Hi, Apologies if this has already been answered but I can't find anything on it. Does the source matter when it comes to wireless headphones? From what I understand, the headphones use their own DAC and the source is simply there to send the signal to the headphones. Am I mistaken or...- Pindi

Pioneer XDP-100R or Onkyo DP-X1
Hi, I'm looking to buy a good DAP but am torn between the the Pioneer XDP-100R and Onkyo DP-X1. Aside from the dual DACs in the Onkyo, aesthetic and UI differences, is there anything between them? I'm not likely to be using the the balanced output so would the dual DACs be at all...- Pindi

JH13 pro freqphase or astell&kern ak120 ii?
Yeah, I really do want the AK but still unsure. Do you reckon the mkii warrants a £500 premium over an, albeit used, mki? Which do you think would offer the biggest sonic upgrade to my setup as it is now? The iems or AK?- Pindi

JH13 pro freqphase or astell&kern ak120 ii?
Hi, I currently use an iphone 4 with shure se535s with custom sleeves. Was thinking about upgrading but not going to go all out at once. I'm thinking either upgrade the iems to jh13 pro freqphase or upgrade the iphone 4 to an astell&kern 120 ii. Which would you guys go for? To be...- Pindi

iPhone 6 & 6 Plus Audio Quality
Just started playing around with the iPhone 6 plus and I'm not sure about the sound quality. I was using an iPhone 4 for a while and liked that. The 6 seems to have a wider soundstage but lacks the impact of the 4. The best way I can describe it is the 4 was a more forward sounding player and...- Pindi

Astell & kern ak120 vs ak120 mk2
Hi, Aside from the lower output impedance, new design and I assume new UI, are there any differences between the ak120 and the ak120 mk2? I can pick up the older one for about £800 less than the mk2. Thanks- Pindi

Custom sleeves for Shure SE535
Thanks. I wouldn't want to use adhesives but I may look into the heat shrink. The only other thing I can think of would be a reshell but for that price, I may as well throw a bit more cash in and just get some proper custom iems. Sleeves that wrap around would be perfect but it looks like they...- Pindi

Custom sleeves for Shure SE535
Hi, I'm currently using Shure SE535s with custom sleeves and I'm loving them. One major problem however is how easily the sleeves slip off each monitor. This has resulted in lost sleeves and me searching hours on end from time to time for ones I've dropped. Has anyone else had...- Pindi

Travelling headphones - ath-m50 or v-moda m80/100
Thanks for the help guys. Bit the bullet and got the m80s. Amazing. I think it's the perfect choice for me. Love the sound signature and coming from the se535, the bass is brilliant. Comfortable and sturdy as hell. Just a shame the m100 aren't out yet.- Pindi

Travelling headphones - ath-m50 or v-moda m80/100
I'm leaning towards the m80. By all accounts, the sound great, have crazy solid build quality and look awesome. While looks are the least of my concerns, it never hurts. I'm also liking the sound of the immortal life guarantee I think it's called. I'd love to wait for the m100 as I'd prefer...- Pindi

Travelling headphones - ath-m50 or v-moda m80/100
Hey guys, I'm going to India in a few days for a few weeks and need some headphones to take with me. I currently use custom se535s (I love the sound signature but a bit more bass wouldn't go amiss) but I don't want to take those, they feel a bit delicate for taking to India (I've been many...- Pindi

Shure SE535, iPhone 4 and an amp. A few questions
Thanks but I wouldn't be switching sources. I don't want to carry around another device in addition to my phone; at least the arrow is thin and can be strapped to the iPhone minimising bulk. I may however consider it if the iPhone 5 is only a minor update in which case I wouldn't be getting it...- Pindi
