Aside from the lower output impedance, new design and I assume new UI, are there any differences between the ak120 and the ak120 mk2? I can pick up the older one for about £800 less than the mk2. Thanks

The AK120MK2 is more of a baby AK240 than an upgraded AK120 (different dual DAC, balance out, DSD128, wifi, and MQS stream).  If you are looking for a good portable DAP and able to live without the upgrades, then the original AK120 is a better choice as it is smaller with bigger max storage (64+128+128 vs. 128+128).
