Quote: The general consensus you'll find is while this community may be a little bit negatively bias towards the brand (and studios in general), what is said about them is generally true: They have muddy, nearly one note bass, lifeless, dreary mids, and dead highs with horrible extension...- Hifianddrumming

Worst Headphone Flops!
Beats are a flop for the world. 300 bucks for a pair of less than mediocre headphones, and we just lap it up. Must be the amazing "Active Noise-cancelling Technology". ;)- Hifianddrumming

Another one of THOSE threads (help)
To be honest, I wouldn`t recommend the A-900s. I`ve heard the pads are uncomfortable, and they sure look it. The wing support can creak after a while, the sound quality leaves a little to be desired (though from the sounds of it, it`s not bad- just could be better). This is all based on...- Hifianddrumming

Amp for Beats Pro?
Quote: Unfortunately, when you run the audio from a portable device (phone, iPod, etc.) the E7 only acts as an amp. It's only when you use the USB input that it acts as a DAC as well.- Hifianddrumming

Amp for Beats Pro?
If you just want a volume boost, I think the Fiio E6 should do the trick. I've got the E7 as an external amp that I sometimes use, it's pretty good, and I've heard that the E6 has a better amp circuit.- Hifianddrumming

If it were me, I wouldn't go for the Aviators. I actually had a chance to demo a well broken-in pair for a fair amount of time. They get a lot of attention because they're not terrible, which is a shock for a pair of skull candies, but "not terrible" doesn't necessarily mean good. There's a lot...- Hifianddrumming

Don't go with Fanny wangs. I hated them when I tried them, definitely not good for the money you would blow. I'm also fairly young, at 15. And I know this isn't true for everyone at this age-range, but you're probably going to want something slightly stylish? Lot's of the suggestions...- Hifianddrumming

Soaring highs- I love treble! But I don't necessarily want highs to completely overpower my music. Midrange- I want my mid-range to be quite prominent, pronounced but still sounding natural. Having Speed problems with my new turntable - Advice?
Hello, and pardon my massive lapse in participation in these forums :) I got exciting news on my birthday when I discovered I had gotten the Pro-ject rpm 1.3, my favourite turntable (design-wise, and through a brief audition, sound-wise). I was all excited, but there is, unfortunately, a...- Hifianddrumming

If you are getting Grados, I would suggest trying to get Flac or WAV files, if you want to truly appreciate the experience. But Grados, for the genres you've stated, are definitely going to be one of your best bets.- Hifianddrumming

Furutech ADL GT40 + Inverter
Hello everyone :) I received a GT40 for Christmas, but I got the US version, meaning it only supports 110-120v input. However, I live in Dubai, which means I had to add an inverter into the equation. I can hear some noise on the odd occasion, and I was wondering, would that be caused by...- Hifianddrumming

Yes, I definitely am younger :p don't know about experienced, just very, very enthusiastic (hence the 655 post count, although I have slacked off recently). I live in Canada during Summer (school break). You're welcome for the thread on it, I was just so surprised I couldn't find any! :) ...- Hifianddrumming
