**Hifiman HE-400 Impressions and Discussion Thread**
Hi folks, After a lot of reading, I decided to buy some HE400S. Can't wait to get my hands on them. These will be my first pair of higher end headphones, upgrading from Grado's SR60 which served me well for 5+ years. I need some advice on amps. I have the following at my disposal, how...- Luc33

Upgrading from a Grado SR60e
Hi, thanks a lot for the info. I actually own these products and I'm not really planning on buying anything else. I will do some more research, but if they're not enough for either of these 2 headphones, unfortunately it might be a deal-breaker for me.- Luc33

Upgrading from a Grado SR60e
Thanks a lot for your suggestions. After some more reading, I decided to go for something different than Grado. I'm still looking for something with some "personality" and on the warmer spectrum (which is what the ATH-M50 were not, IMO. They sounded kind of flat and neutral, and I probably...- Luc33

Upgrading from a Grado SR60e
To be honest, the Grados are the only high-quality headphones I've heard (apart from the ATH-M50) so I don't have a lot to compare it to, but I think its bass is really good. I'll have a look into the Alessandro, thanks! More recommendations are definitely welcome- Luc33

Upgrading from a Grado SR60e
Hi all, I've had the Grado SR60 for 5 years and it's time for an upgrade. I absolutely love their sound and would like something that resembles it to some degree. I've actually had the ATH-M50 for a few months and despite all the good things I was reading I still preferred the Grados over...- Luc33

The Fiio X3 Thread.
Any news on how to fix the 'unknown artist' problem in firmware 3.30? Or is it just me having this problem? (tags used to read fine, but after installing 3.30 I get 'unknown artist' for every file) Cheers- Luc33

The Fiio X3 Thread.
an update, for what it's worth: I have since deleted all my music from the device and sd card. I am now keeping only FLACs with no embedded album art. That way, the device is super responsive and quick, and hasn't frozen since, not even once. (my previous 'music' folder contained mostly...- Luc33

Thanks for the replies. I've turned gapless playback on and so far, so good. I'll will try the beta fw if I keep getting the problem. :) edit: oh well. as soon as I posted this, the X3 froze. Also, any simple way of disabling artwork display? (Or maybe an easy way of...- Luc33

iPod Touch 4th Generation question (LOD + .mp3 + headphones)
hello everyone, I've just bought an iPod touch and i'd like to know how to make the best of it, SQ-wise. I've been reading some good things about LOD + amp, BUT, would it be worthy for me to get them even though I only listen to .mp3s? My mp3s are all V0, and some 320, but I figure all...- Luc33

Brainwavz M2 / R03 Vs. Head-Direct RE2
Quote: Oh, now I see that mp4nation ships worldwide for free. I was guessing the $39 M1 + shipment on mp4nation would cost me more than the $47 shipped M2 on ebay. I think I'll get the M1. Thanks you both :)- Luc33

Brainwavz M2 / R03 Vs. Head-Direct RE2
unfortunately I can't find the FXC80 shipping outside the US/Canada. For me, the M1s will end up being more expensive than the M2s. Would you still pick the M1 over the M2 in that case? (they both sound good to me. mind that I'm no audiophile, and I probably just love the RE2 'cause they're...- Luc33

Brainwavz M2 / R03 Vs. Head-Direct RE2
Quote: The RE0 sounds like a great one but it`s a little too expensive for me right now. I`m gonna spend $ 50 max. I`ll look into these 3 other earphones you mentioned, thanks. I`ll also look into the M1. How do they compare to the M2 in terms of sound quality? By the way...- Luc33

Hi everyone I need help to decide between these headphones. (or if anyone got a better option, I'm also open) I'll be using the cans mainly with my electronic drum set, so I need some good bass and sound clarity. I'm on a very tight budget, so I'm going for the cheapest acceptably good...- Luc33

Help me deciding, please (Cowon players / Sansa Fuze)
well i might try it. I'm almost buying the Fuze. Has anyone already tried both the iAudio and Fuze? is there a noticeable difference on sound quality? (i'm far from an expert, i can't even tell a V2 from a FLAC file normally, and i rarely mess with the EQs)- Luc33
