Any of those will run them just fine. No need for anything else. Just listen to all of them to find the sweet spot . I like power as it gives more dynamics to the sound. Yes a phone will run them but out of my Liquid Carbon they are so much better and also from my EF2A.
So I saw the Massdrop HD 6XX deal and I am tempted to get them. Any point of getting them if I already have the HE-400 headphones? Or better to save up and get into the next tier of headphones?
I'm tempted since the HD600 was my second option when getting the HE-400s. Was a difficult choice, but decided to go with the Hifimans because I really wanted to get something with planar drivers.

I haven't heard HD600, but I was quite underwhelmed by HD650. Signature was warm and pretty pleasant but somehow too veiled. Soundstage lacked depth and sound wasn't airy enough. Anyway I think my (modded) HE400 are much better, much more transparent and effortless sound. Anyway, never judge headphones by the price. Sometimes more cheaper phones can be way better, it's all about preference after all.

Depends on the sound signature that you like and the genre of music that you prefer. And to a small extent the amp that you will be using. If you listen to a lot vocals, pop and jazz I would go with the HD-6XX and for EDM, R&B, and alternate then the HE-400 might be a better choice.
Imo the HD650 is more transparent than the he400. The he400 has a boosted treble to give the artificial sense of spqce/detail/air. The HD650 drivers are more focused and able to produce more transparency through technical ability. Detail in the HD650 is not artificial at all.

There is one thing the HE400 does well that frankly I've never heard another can do as well - bass slam. The HD650 is a legendary all-rounder known for a warm tilt, whereas the HE400 is a quirky one-trick pony. But my, what a world-class trick.
