IEM for metal music and hard rock - ultimate solution
Whelp I think my search is over. Moondrop Variations. More technically proficient than the 3DTs. Very comfy. Very punchy. I do wish there were a little more midrange, but that's about it. Fantastic IEMs for heavy genres.- Pott

Single-DD IEM for heavy and metal genres
Ooops. A good question indeed. 1) it's something I don't currently have, at least not in a format I like. It'd be a different tonal flavor 2) I usually do like the general coherence you get from single-driver IEMs, and I own a single-BA IEM already (the Etymotic ER4XR) What I have in my...- Pott

Single-DD IEM for heavy and metal genres
Recently I've been keeping the following IEMs in my rotation: * UM 3DT (favorites) * CFA Andromeda * Noble x Drop K10 * ThieAudio Clairvoyance I honestly love all of them. But it does make me feel that I'm kind of 'done' with BA/hybrid type IEMs. These cover everything I love. The only thing...- Pott

Unique Melody 3D Terminator 3DT Announcement Thread
I've been using my 3DT daily for about a month now. Before I received these, that's what was in my rotation: * Thieaudio Clairvoyance (superb, flat-ish sound but still extremely pleasant. Large shells. Still, really, really high quality IEMs) * CFA Andromedas (beloved for good reasons. Fantastic...- Pott

IEM for metal music and hard rock - ultimate solution
Well over the past few months, I have rekindled my love for IEMs and tried these: * Noble x Drop K10: powerful mids, fairly inoffensive tuning, comfortable. Very nice to have around, especially for the price on sale * CFA Andromeda: really, really enjoyable. Technically proficient, but they...- Pott

ThieAudio Signature Series Tribrid IEMs
Hi folks; are the new Excalibur/Oracle smaller, or the same exact size, as the Clairvoyance? My ONLY gripe with the Clair is its size... EDIT: going back through the thread, a couple people commented that the new IEMs are a little smaller. That's great news!- Pott

IEM for metal music and hard rock - ultimate solution
Just got my 3DT. It's only been a few songs but honestly, I am grinning. I am used to more expensive IEMs (Andromedas, Clairvoyance, Noble K10, or even the Dunu SA6 and Fearless S8F). But for guitar and metal, the 3DTs really bring a lot of punch. There's more bass than I normally go for, and...- Pott

IEM for metal music and hard rock - ultimate solution
That Headfonia review of the 3DT made me purchase them immediately. I own much more technically-proficient or transparent IEMs, but this one seems... different. They arrive on Friday, I hope they replace my current 'bass' IEMs, the Fearless S8F and Dunu SA6. If they don't, that just means more...- Pott

IEM for metal music and hard rock - ultimate solution
Unfortunately, a) the 2 pins slot is so recessed on the SA6s that aftermarket cables will have issues fitting the IEM b) the only aftermarket cable I have is a SuperBax which doesn't fit because of a) and c) I don't know if a new cable would add that much treble and lower the bass. My taste is...- Pott

IEM for metal music and hard rock - ultimate solution
I just got the Dunu SA6 today. While I enjoy them and they're a very competent IEM indeed, I find them too bassy and without the treble sparkle I look for in dedicated metal IEMs. I'm keeping them though. They sound a little more pleasant and easy listen to than the Fearless S8F.- Pott

Sennheiser IE300 Review & Measurements
Thanks for the recs all :) It sounds like the 300s aren't exactly for me, I'll look into those other IEMs mentioned! EDIT: Looks like I had already replied :D silly me...- Pott

Sennheiser IE300 Review & Measurements
That's great stuff, thank you! Interesting about the Vega, I was kind of considering it, but I also have the Atlas and did NOT enjoy them. They're way too intense in the bass, not at all something I can listen to for longer time-periods. It just gets... too much. I don't have a balanced source...- Pott

Sennheiser IE300 Review & Measurements
Hey folks; I am currently going between my Thieaudio Clairvoyance and the Campfire Audio Andromeda (and when I can't find these, the Noble x Drop K10 and the Fearless S8F). I'm looking for a single DD IEM to complement these. I already have the JVC HA-FD01 but the fit is terrible for me and...- Pott

ThieAudio Signature Series Tribrid IEMs
I have both too; the Andros are smaller and it's quite noticeable to me. Both fit me ok-ish (the Andros are heavy and I need to secure them), but I do wish the Clairvoyance were smaller, while I'm more ok wearing the Andros for longer time periods. I have some Fearless S8F at my desk as well...- Pott

DUNU Studio SA6 is now officially released worldwide!
How big are these? I have the S8F and I'd like a similarly-small IEM with a little more focus on the midrange. These may fit the bill! But if they're more, say, the Clairvoyance's size, that'd be an issue...- Pott
