Per Oppo:   The PM-3 needs a tight seal between the ear pad and the driver front baffle in order to work properly. This is why the ear pad attachment mechanism is very different from the PM-1/PM-2. Removing the ear pads requires some brute force. With skill and luck nothing bad will happen...

Oppo Digital AU is actually Australasian distributor International Dynamics as a FYI.    Both Oppo Digital AU and Oppo Digital NZ share the same web design.  

PM-1/2 is larger and designed with actual snap in points for installing/removing pads.  The PM-3 only offers the ability to replace the pads from a maintenance point of view.     Look at this image for size differences, PM-1, PM-2, PM-3 from left to right

Very recently I found VOX 2.4 (build 2400.112 12/16/2014) plays DSD files now!  Tried it with various .dff and .dsf audio files, played them all without issues.  Not bad for freeware IMHO.     Then there is this posted on their web site and twitter 12/12   Something new is coming… Be ready...
