Fiio X5 3rd gen || 2x AKM 4490 || Balanced Out || DSD || DXD | DTS | Android || Dual Card Slot
Re: Playlists -- I have been using Foobar to make my playlists for the X5-2. Anyone have experience with that on the X5-3? I have used MediaMonkey in the past but have found Foobar to be simpler and more intuitive. Maybe not as flexible.- freddy315

As an ENT, I would also emphasize that it is not just the volume that causes damage but also the duration of exposure. Hence OSHA limits on industrial noise exposure that include duration as well as dB.- freddy315

I've toned down the treble a little on the 200J but haven't found it harsh.- freddy315

I tend to side with George to a degree re: MP3. I remember a few years ago, before I switched to aac and flac, that I could hear what I used to call "aliens" in the background. Admittedly I think back then I was using 128 kbps and upping to 320 might lessen that. And as time goes by and I...- freddy315

and remember to format it in the X5ii. But also note that Windows 10 may not recognize the form of fat32 that Fiio uses. I had to reformat my cards in Windows 10 using another program in order for them to be recognized.- freddy315

I love the Lockscreen 3 feature. Its the one thing that has kept me from getting the X7. I can stop or skip songs in my car without having to take my eyes off the road.- freddy315

Don't know why I didn't notice this before. In system settings near the bottom of the list is "Reset Media Library". Not the same as "Update Media Lib". Anyone know what this does?- freddy315

I frequently use my X5ii connected to my stereo. Line out to Aux in on my 15 year old Marantz, B&W 683 S2 speakers. I like it much better than playing my CD player but it also is not a new model so that may make a difference. What I really like is that I can listen to a playlist and not be...- freddy315

Official X5 2nd gen beta firmware download and discussion thread--version 1.27: library search function, replaygain, filter options
Yes, there is a character limit, I don't remember what it is, that past that point the file will not be recognized on random play or playlists. If you go on the regular discussion group for the X5ii you can probably find it. -

Not sure if you are using a PC or Mac but on my PC I have found that the simplest way to a playlist was using Foobar2000. Plug in the Fiio or take the card out and read it directly. Go to Add Files or Add folder. Keep adding as many as you want. Just make sure you are pulling the files from...- freddy315
