Pictures of Your Portable Rig (part XVI)
Listening to a soundboard recording of the Grateful Dead on 6/7/77 with this little rig and Phil’s bass sounds phenomenal.- deadhead12

How do I get the firmware to install? I downloaded the .rar file to the sd card and when I run the update from sd card function on the player it says no firmware file found. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong.- deadhead12

@baskingshark thank you for posting that!! Would it be possible for you to post an image of DDDD, UDDD, UUDD, and DUDD, and a second image of DDDD, DDUD, DDUU, and DDDU? It’s hard to make out the individual measurements in the image with all the plots.- deadhead12

Thanks for your impressions @happyblack! I share in your impressions of the sound as well as your hesitation to recommend this dap without a firmware update and more robust qc. For my purposes, I was coming from the fiio m9 and I was looking for a better version of that dap. Mainly an akm based...- deadhead12

I received my Rhapsody a few days ago and I’m trying to get an understanding of the switches. Based on the graphs, and listening seems to match this but my hearing isn’t that precise, I think the first switch is about +3 db boost to frequencies 100hz and below. The second switch adds another...- deadhead12

I was having problems with scanning and the solve for me was to remove acc files encoded as .mp4 from my card. I have an almost full 256gig card with flac and .mp3 only and it scans correctly for me now. I believe the files at issue for me came from itunes back in the day, but I'm 100% on that...- deadhead12

I don’t think it’s the card cause it worked flawlessly for years on my m9. I don’t have an explanation for the bug, but I was able to replicate it. It might not be the case that all .m4a files cause problems for people, but I’m confident that at least one album of those files was the problem in...- deadhead12

No. If I want to listen to those I’ll stream them from my Plex server. I only had a few albums in that file format, and they’re not ones I listen to often.- deadhead12

I confirmed that the .m4a files are the problem. I loaded and album of .m4a files on my sd card and the device crashed while scanning the database. It scanned normally after deleting that album off my card.- deadhead12

I just re-worked my sd card so that everything is only 2 folders deep and now I can only scan 4611 files. I’m even more confused than I was before. I’m probably going to pair down my card quite a bit cause there’s a lot of my wife’s music on there that I’ll probably never listen to. Hopefully I...- deadhead12

Thank you for the reply. I think getting the renderer settings figured out is beyond my capabilities. I’ll just use airplay or Bluetooth from the Plex iOS app.- deadhead12

Does anyone know how to use the DNLA function on the v3? I don’t see any menu to allow my device to access my server even though I granted access on the pc side.- deadhead12
