D-Fi with or without tuning switches? Or are the switches just a meme anyway?
The no-switches D-Fi is ridiculously cheap in a "buy 3 items sale" so I'm considering getting one.
Review wise non switch dfi is pretty good.
It apparently tuned similar to oxygen

I have version with switches.

I'm better off without the switches anyway, as I'm certain I'd find myself constantly fiddling with them, trying to find some sort of sweet spot.
Supposedly, the version without switches is better. However, I have not compared.

You got it petfect, bravo!!

I have 15 of those pokemons (not counting duplicates, 5+), starting with the very first C04 (clone of ZSA), C04 were in my picture trivia few pages back

I used to be a CCA fan, having all of them.to date, not anymore, their tuning now feels to be quite odd tries that KZ opted not to adapt. Recent Rhapsody was really so me-e-rh for me (but then I very much appreciated the odd tuning of Pianist).

I could not help ordering their most recent 3-DD CCA - will see how bad it can get...
The presumed positive, only 100 sold, even without specs known, so not paying for reviewers' samples at least (!)

For my favourite CCA IEMs:
C16 was fun in their time, 3 years ago - my first modding (later, AS16 largely superseeded C16).
I enjoyed A10, but now use better built KBear KB10 clone.
I preferred CA4 to ZSN and ZSN pro (now Krila and ZSN pro 2 are better).
CA16 remain unique nice "analoguish" gentle but resolving IEM in my stable.
CRA and CRA+ were mighty good for their price.
Pianist is a great hybrid analogue of A10 for me, surely simple and unique IEM to appreciate.

As for KZ IEMs, recent AS24 was a very much perfect hit for my tastes.
I am really surprised ZAT are not talked much more, beats Simgot E6ML left and right for me, and competitive with Celest Phoenixcall and 1More Penta out of my recent hybrids. Not many reviewer samples (??)
ASX modified with a wide nozzle remain my personal subjective favourite of all. T800 are more refined surely, but edgy ASX feel just so right, so nothing displaced them so far - with T800 and AS24 being differently enjoyable my prime trio.
.
Then a lot of KZs were nice:
AS10 - my first all-BA IEM and great experience.
AS16 for classical musuc, especially string quartets.
AS16 pro - for more general/ loose fun.
BA10 are quite refined marvel other than the odd-fitting shape.
PR1 pro are nice planars to enjoy.
ESX - my relaxing LCP IEM, beautiful build of the top plate.
Castor - totally wiping Project Red at price/performance and being at par with capabilities.
Many others enjoyable KZs as well (the only one not registering was ZSN pro X).

I owned 12 CCA and 27 KZ Pokemons.
Currently I have 6.

Today I saw that the C16 was susceptible to source impedance. That explains a lot for me now.

I'm still thinking about buying an AS24, because that of all the models BA10 I liked the most, and tuning (of AS24) looks still promising. BA10 are followed by the HM20.
These two will stay with me forever.

I received my Rhapsody a few days ago and I’m trying to get an understanding of the switches. Based on the graphs, and listening seems to match this but my hearing isn’t that precise, I think the first switch is about +3 db boost to frequencies 100hz and below. The second switch adds another +5db boost below 100hz. The second two switches the are labeled treble boost but seem to reduce frequencies below 400hz by the same amounts, so -3db then -5db. I also think 0101 does nothing, so it’s the same as 0000, but I haven’t found measurements for that setting and haven’t done any listening comparisons. Is my understanding correct?
So far I’m enjoying them. I’ve found that for me to get the best bass response I need to treat them as if they have bone conduction and make sure the housing makes solid contact with my concha.
Edit: I was wrong about 0101. I actually think it might be my preferred setting now.

My score is 19 KZ and 13 CCA. BA10, ZS7, PR3, Castor and Krila are my favourite KZs. CKX is my choice from CCA.
