There's some sort of EMF created by your flashlight, it's not bright enough to significantly effect your system. Hot cathodes do still glow in vacuum, the metal evaporator I occasionally use has a very high vacuum and you can see the glow.- DanielCox

I doubt it - the voice coils on a headphone would be much further away from the brain than this piece of equipment and the magnetic field it generates is a lot weaker and orientated inwards.- DanielCox

Etymotic ER-20 plugs... appropriate for a metal show?
A search shows that they attenuate by 20dB. From memory sound has to be louder than 90dB for a sustained period to cause damage. You'll have to guess how loud the concert will be for your answer.- DanielCox
