    Vacuum Tubes and Light

There's some sort of EMF created by your flashlight, it's not bright enough to significantly effect your system. Hot cathodes do still glow in vacuum, the metal evaporator I occasionally use has a very high vacuum and you can see the glow.

    Headphones & rTMS

I doubt it - the voice coils on a headphone would be much further away from the brain than this piece of equipment and the magnetic field it generates is a lot weaker and orientated inwards.

Etymotic ER-20 plugs... appropriate for a metal show?

A search shows that they attenuate by 20dB. From memory sound has to be louder than 90dB for a sustained period to cause damage. You'll have to guess how loud the concert will be for your answer.

Rant : PC crash and reboot

It's a BSOD - the default behaviour is to immediately reboot, it's quick so you won't often see the blue screen. What OS? If it's XP then it could be any number of problems. If it's Vista or 7 then it's more likely to be a hardware problem since not a lot of software should be causing BSODs.

It's ******** and so is Ayurvedic medicine - although I'm positive some of the stuff used in Ayurvedic medicine is genuine (herbs and whatnot) the explanation is pure cack and this just makes it scientific evidence based medicine.

Computer Experts, Lend Me Your Ears!

I'd go with a Lian-Li, they make fantastic cases. In terms of cooling all you need are a few 120mm fans - good ones like Noctua if you wish. For quietness consider mounting fans on rubber dampers, good heatsinks will have these built in. Suspend your hard drive in mid air (I used underwear...
