I have a pair of KSC50's that have a bit of a rattle developing on anything but very low volume.  Additionally, the foam padding has worn through and is about to fall off each earphone.  I believe that these have a lifetime warranty, so I could send them in but I may not get KSC50s back.    ...

I originally chose the Klipsch C2's over these a couple years ago because the C2's came out on sale for $50 less than the turbines, but I was never really satisfied with the C2s and wondered what these sound like.  You can't get a much better opportunity to try them than $59.

When listening to Tool, Coheed and Cambria, and other music, I feel like the singer and guitars are behind some heavy curtain and are almost muffled. I love the sound stage, but not the sound signature as much.

I just got the Custom 2s and their bass is pretty strong. However, you should be aware that the cables cause major microphonics - read the Klipsch Owners Only poll thread. I don't know why Klipsch didn't use rubber from the splitter to each earbud.
