Earbuds Round-Up
Any other impressions on the proteus, especially in contrast to the Aurora or W03? I haven't been able to get much info on it other than it's a more mid centric set than the other two. I wanted to order an Aurora but have been thinking of getting a second set with it to amoritize the high...- AtEase

Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread
Could anyone with both the trio and rhapsody tell me how they compare size-wise? I have the rhapsody and think they sound excellent. The large shells are an awkward fit for my ears, though. Slightly painful even, if I wear them too long. It's not the nozzle that's the problem. It's the...- AtEase

AKG K26 and K24
Do the K24 leak a lot of sound? Can you use them in an office environment with disturbing the people in neighboring cubicles? paspro, any more thoughts on the K26 vs. the px200? Is it worth the upgrade for a (mostly satisfied) px200 owner? Thanks.- AtEase

DT770 vs HD600
I own both an hd580 and a dt770. Sonically, even unamped and straight out the headphone out of my computer, the hd580 are in a different league than the dt770 IMHO. However, the dt770 are far from bad sounding, and the isolation they provide is great for drowning out my annoyingly loud case fan...- AtEase

Reccomend me shoegaze+female vocal
Hello, fellow Slowdive fan If you decide to try Yo La Tengo, give I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One a try. IMO it's their best, and one of my favorite albums of all time. -
The new Strokes single
I turned on the radio this morning and caught the tail end of the new single 12:51. It sounds a lot like the Cars -- before the singer's distorted vocals came in I was trying to figure out which Cars song was on -- but, thats not a bad thing. The new album is out on the 10/21, I think I might... -
CAT POWER - YOU ARE FREE
So far my favorite album of the year. It's solid through and through - the only song I routinely skip is Names which is a bit too much.... -
Talk Talk fans rejoice--SACDs coming!
Laughing Stock > The Colour of Spring and Spirit of Eden, IMO. Still if I had the money I'd love to pick up a SACD player. -
Best opening to a song?

Your 5 newest CDs (or LPs)
I found a stack of used Bowie cds at the record shop last week and picked a few up. In order of preference: -Low -Ziggy Stardust -Hunky Dory (I think I'm going back for Scary Monsters...) I also picked up Pavement's Slanted and Enchanted, and Cocteau Twins' Victorialand. -
Heady Award: Most Annoying voice -- Female Vocalist
Wow, how could this thread go on for three pages with no one mentioning Nico?! Her songs on vu & nico are automatic skips for me... btw, Vespertine, and Bjork in general, is pretty great. -
Favorite album covers or packaging
As far as packaging goes, the layered-translucent sleeve and booklet that Tool's Lateralus comes in is very cool. -
Cocteau Twins - New Remasters

Cocteau Twins - New Remasters

Mostly "chill-out" albums: I picked up Talk Talk - Laughing Stock and Spirit of Eden used last month and they've been in heavy rotation ever since. -

The Ultimate Headphone album
I was going to say sterolab too (Emperor Tomato Ketchup, since its the only album of theirs I have so far), I guess I'll go with DJ Shadow Endtroducing instead. -
Johnny Cash's 'Hurt' Video
http://www.islandmercury.de/real/joh...h_hurt_dsl.ram Cash's video for his cover of the NIN song "Hurt", from his recent album, American IV, it's possibly the most moving video I've ever seen. It's amazing how Cash can make the song completely his own. -
Who Loves Pavement?
Slanted & Enchanted/ Luxe & Reduxe is definetely on my "to buy" list. -
mini review/ JVC HA-D990
One of the things I like best about the dt770s in comparison to other closed phones I've tried (e.g. my v6) is the fairly wide soundstage, how are the 990 in that regard? Quote: The mid-range is clear, smooth and has a presence that reminds me of the current grados mids, but not as...- AtEase
