Acoustic Research M2 Audiophile-Grade Hi-Res Portable
BTW, just to make things perfectly clear, When you select "Artists", a list of that Artists albums that you have loaded should come up. When you then select a particular album, the songs should come up in ALBUM (not alphabetical) order. Just in case... Kevin- k3oxkjo

Acoustic Research M2 Audiophile-Grade Hi-Res Portable
'Fraid so Maynard, 'fraid so. :) You go under Artists and get every individual song on all their albums you have in Alphabetic order. As the late great Richie Ashburn would say, "hard to believe, Harry..." Kevin- k3oxkjo

Acoustic Research M2 Audiophile-Grade Hi-Res Portable
Actually, had I known it MIGHT have been a dealbreaker! Looking under albums is just not the same thing. I have NEVER seen anyone sort their Record or CD collection by SONG or ALBUM TITLE evar! Always by Artist in alphabetical order, why should a music player work any different? To me, this...- k3oxkjo

Acoustic Research M2 Audiophile-Grade Hi-Res Portable
Here is what your customers need as soon as you get back from the show. ARTISTS brings up ALBUMS, not "songs". This is most critical, while it's true I bought the player for its sound quality, this flaw is so obvious and inexplicable that I can't believe the player was ever released this way...- k3oxkjo

am i interpreting this freq response graph right.. (im noob..) or are these 10$ in ear headphones better than m50s..
If you look at the midrange of the M-50 (about 200 hz to 2 kHz), you will see they are actually flatter through this range than the Skullcandies. Generally, this is considered the most critical range for natural sound.- k3oxkjo

Reviews + impressions thread: Final Audio Design Pandora Hope VI (interesting dynamic + BA full size headphones)
I have had the Pandora VI for about two weeks now, and while I don't like to say too much until I really feel like I "know" a headphone, I will say that the bass is quite good all things considered. It strikes me as a bit more than ideal and just a bit bloomy, but doesn't obscure the rest of...- k3oxkjo

[Review] Oppo PM-1, Oppo hit the nail on the head
Hmm... the "subject matter on topic"... Thread: Oppo PM-1, Oppo hit the nail on the head Leading, but grabs the eye... Post 1: A nice review of the OPPO by a contributor who was a Beta tester who tells us: "Before anyone asks, I do not have experience with other high-end...- k3oxkjo

[Review] Oppo PM-1, Oppo hit the nail on the head
That's nice. But the point of my posting was that it was silly to say that OPPO shouldn't make a headphone. If it's good (however they get there) it will succeed and if it isn't, it will fail. No harm, no foul.- k3oxkjo

[Review] Oppo PM-1, Oppo hit the nail on the head
Let's say OPPO hired the guy who originally designed the driver in the Fostex or Yamaha Orthos? Or, for that matter, if they hired the guy from, say, Audeze to moonlight designing a custom driver for them? They would have an "expert" then, so it would now be OK? Would it be OK if they started...- k3oxkjo

Olson's three laws of Headfi thread motion (for the scientifically inclined...)
Here is Olson's three laws of Headfi thread motion (with apologies to Newton): 1) Every thread in a state of uniform commentary motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it (usually from some other thread where some other competing product is being...- k3oxkjo

LFF's Enigma (new from the maker of the Paradox)
With all the 'controversy' regarding the Enigma's headband, I had to laugh, today on the train to work I saw a guy wearing headphones where the headband pad was PINK BUBBLEWRAP! Now don't get me wrong, it was nicely applied, held in place with precisely spaced thick rubber bands of some sort...- k3oxkjo

Brand New : Tralucent Audio Ref.1 Too & original Ref.1
Seems like that's not so easily accomplished. And if it should happen, gain or lose 15 pounds and all bets are off. The only real reason I can see for customs is to avoid feedback for musicians on stage or for on-air talent to avoid their mics picking up the IFB from the director. Personally...- k3oxkjo

Brand New : Tralucent Audio Ref.1 Too & original Ref.1
Why? It seems like all I hear is people with customs kvetching about lead times, audiologist visits, poor fit and returns for remolds/adjustments or deciding to live with irritated ears and after all that you lose your shirt if you need (or want) to sell them. And sometimes the original company...- k3oxkjo

Customs Roxanne or Universal Roxanne
I don't think there is any reason to believe that if JH brings out a Universal verison of their IEM's it will have "shoddy tuning". And many people have found that CIEM's are irritating to their ears, more so than Universals. The slightest imperfection in manufacture, original molds or...- k3oxkjo

Do audiophiles "like" music?
From what I see, relatively few people really "love" music. How many people do you know who devote an evening to just listening to music? Not hanging with friends with music playing, not listening while performing chores, not listening on IEM's to distract themselves from the bustle on...- k3oxkjo
