    Quick Impression: Sony MDR-7550

I will c if I can ask my friend to get one for me from Taobao. As for the earphones, I love them more than my fidue a83. The bass is richer n tighter the mids are well balanced between the treble n bass. It is much more neutral than a&3 across all frequencies. The sounds have better separation n...

Review of Hidizs AP100 portable HiFi music player

Cool, Ozkan, can you post more photos of ur disassembled ap100 so that we can get a better idea of the innards of the player. Many thanks and nice picture. Strange that the don't just etch or mill the serial number to the outside, instead of putting a sticker inside the shell.

Review of Hidizs AP100 portable HiFi music player

Just got a pair of Sony ex800st, they go well with the Hidizs ap100. Pairing the ex800st with an additional e12a only gives a warmer n better sub bass but the volcal n treble balance is excellent already. Almost no hiss or noise from the Hidizs unlike my a83 n im02. Unexpectedly good match up...

    Quick Impression: Sony MDR-7550

Just got Sony ex800st, there r great and that is coming from someone who uses at-im02 and fidue a83. The ex800 are very mid forward but retains the treble details n bass. This is especially so if they are deeply inserted in the ear. The details rivals the at-im02 when deep insertion is used. It...

Review of Hidizs AP100 portable HiFi music player

High Light man, My high gain option is on my external Fiio e12a amp not the pre-amp setting of the Hidizs The pre-amp setting on hidizs is kind of strange. Pushing the pre-amp into the positive position squishes the soundstage and distorts the whole sound, whereas moving to the negative range...

Review of Hidizs AP100 portable HiFi music player

true that,  AP 100 is a strange beast as i don't get how the firmware affects the sound signature so much and what the CS8422 chip's relationship to the whole audio process.  Furthermore, the new hidizs web site is confusing, the old one was more straight forward and to the point.

Review of Hidizs AP100 portable HiFi music player

I have reverted back to v70 beta2 firmware because it goes better with my amp and delivers more treble. I will wait for v71 before I go back to a normal firmware. I find that v70 has too much bass and deviates from the original Hidizs house sound of being bright n treblely with forward vocals...

Review of Hidizs AP100 portable HiFi music player

True that, ap100 is great at powering cans. In fact, it sounds better with higher impedance cans. It is only on low impedance sensitive iems that it sounds noisy n sometimes a bit off in soundstage n bass.

Hidizs AP100 (DAP) Support Team - Now on Head-fi!

Second that, the battery life/indicator is not as accurate/reliable as the 70 beta versions. The current ver 70 sometimes shows 2 bars of power left before turning off but then turning it back on it may show 1 to 2 bars less. Also, the batteries seem not to last as long from playing from full...

Review of Hidizs AP100 portable HiFi music player

Hi Light-man, The e12a matches up better with ap100 than c5. I am planning to try out the aune b1. My updated ver2 ap100 hardware, both the ho and Lo has very similar power output where the Lo is only 5/80 volume steps differents on the ap100. The ho with e12a makes music more laid back but...

Review of Hidizs AP100 portable HiFi music player

After matching the ap100 with the e12a I would say I am very satisfied. The e12a sounds quite poor during the first hours when the components run in but after around 10hours the resolution improves greatly. It becomes fully run in after around 40hour or 2 battery charges for the e12a. The...

Review of Hidizs AP100 portable HiFi music player

Just troubleshoot the problem with my limited programming knowledge, the problem was due to the library list for the firmware still using the labels from the beta version. A simple library update solved the problem. Thx Hidizs, so far so good.

Review of Hidizs AP100 portable HiFi music player

I was using exfat format for my sd card which worked well with the 70 beta2 firmware where I was able to delete files, but with the official firmware 70, I cannot.

Review of Hidizs AP100 portable HiFi music player

Just got the Fiio e12a to pair with ap100. Still burning in amp so far so good. Initial impressions are that The e12a fixes the problems of the ap100, namely base noise and compressed sound depth. The sounds are much more holographic and the noise problem of ap100 is history:). By the way, I...

Review of Hidizs AP100 portable HiFi music player

After the burn in the ap100 has improved tonality but as a side note the noise level remains the same as my previous entry and basically the same as the original version of ap100. The headphone out is much more musical n resolving than before with more colour and life to the music, creating a...

Review of Hidizs AP100 portable HiFi music player

Hidizs is quite good with their warranty. Received a replacement for my faulty 1st batch ap100. My initial impressions of the new 2nd gen ap100 are: - lighter over all weight (not sure what they did to reduce the weight) - the sound is a bit different - the headphone output is bassier n has...
