Focal Utopia General Discussion
I like HD800 a lot. But to my ear the Utopia is more accurate and very close to real world sound. So yes, I do think Utopia worth the price.- Captain-Scarlet

Focal Utopia General Discussion
Hi there, this is my first post in this thread. Just upgrade my Focal Utopia with Danacable Lazuli Reference. Here is what I thought about it. My first impression about Lazuli Reference was that it's punchy. There's more body in the bass. However the mids and highs were a little bit muddy. It...- Captain-Scarlet

Cosmetic-wise the CF-126 is a good looking match with HUGO. I used it with a new pair of Mundorf silver-gold wire. The SQ is as good as Neotech's NEI-1001.- Captain-Scarlet

Thanks a lot for the advise. The phone bill would be too expensive if I call them directly from Taiwan. I just send them an e-mail. Hopefully someone will take care of it very soon.- Captain-Scarlet

I don't know the exact setup of my friend's. For myself please refer to my profile. But my HUGO is at Chord waiting for repair since a month ago. It broke before I can do the comparison.- Captain-Scarlet

Hi Rob, Thanks so much for your genius work to bring HUGO to the world. We all enjoy it very much everyday. I have a couple of questions regarding the power supply performance of the HUGO. Would you please kindly explain to me if you know the answer. Q1. Do you know the PSRR of the HUGO's power...- Captain-Scarlet

I doubt if it exist. Before Apple or others make it you still can use a lightning CCK and a USB A to micro B cable.- Captain-Scarlet

For one of the upset customer of the early Hugo adopter I've tried every effort to connect the RCA output to my head amp. Though I could barely connect my inventory RCA cable to the tiny RCA hole, it's easily lose connect even with a slightly volume adjustment. Since there's no information...- Captain-Scarlet

After comparing Hugo with my reference DAC - DAC202U on the USB input I had to admit that Hugo outperforms DAC202U in every aspect. Hugo's highs are more crystal clear. It's not analytic but a shimmering high. The mids are sweeter and the lows are darker. In terms of speed and depth Hugo wins...- Captain-Scarlet

For mac users Audirvana Plus is a very good music player. It can play back FLAC/wave/DSD and almost all other audio format files. The DSD file can be converted into PCM if the DAC is not DSD ready. In the case of HUGO you can configure Audirvana Plus to use DOP standard to listen to...- Captain-Scarlet

I can confirm that my iPhone5 can play back DSD, DXD, FLAC, etc. files. When playing DSD file the LED indicator on the HUGO is showing WHITE color. While playing DXD file the color change to PURPLE. Here is what you need: CCK and Onkyo HF Player (you'll need to purchase it to enable HD music).- Captain-Scarlet
