I have tested by listening, the solid core optical to the 1300 fiber that Sysconcepts uses and I hear a difference, an improvement with the 1300 fiber.

Don't know, maybe different equipment. I listened to solid core, 1300 fiber and 13,000 fiber. 1300 was my preference. The 13,000 deteriorated the sound some and is fragile anyway. I get better detail related to individual sounds with the 1300 over solid. There is less transmission loss with the 1300 fiber and the signal is handled differently due to reflections.

Can someone shoot me a PM, or just post here, and let me know of any good dealers for the Hugo in the US?

Moon Audio sells the Hugo.

They can also help you if you want/need cables that are sure to fit the Hugo's recessed jacks.

new addition to the family thanks to a great fellow Head-Fi-er (SF) who is willing to take a risk to ship the AP to me.

About the volume wheel....Are there any steps/clicks or free all the path? Is it smooth all the way up/down?
Is it true that every time you turn on the volume is at max?

It is smooth wheel that has perhaps a little too much resistance to turn. Each time you turn on the device the setting is at the green setting which can be too loud for some gears. The max is blue setting I believe.

Grab a decent 6.3-mm connector + a pair of RCA connectors that are good for cables with 8.6-mm in diameter, and they should be one of the best deal here in Hong Kong.

I spoke with Hercules and he said MING electronics has the Wireworld RCA connectors as well...i think I will ask him to build me one to connect from Hugo 1/4" phone out to rca.. Thanks!!!

It's at "green" volume level every time you turn it on. The max is "white", which is two color level above from "green". You'd need to change volume every time you turn it on, because for iem's i think you'll need almost minimum volume level (light red).

The volume wheel is smooth, but with resistance when turning it up/down, to prevent accidental volume change during operation, i think.
