fwiw, i picked my new e500's up, i think it was a new pair, the box had a green sticker on it, but looked new under the hood... anyway, the cables do not feel like the old ones, i suspect it was because i just did not notice the cable hardening and becoming slick, but these are soft and matte...

mine cracked and got green and nasty inside like an infected cable, anyway, i don't know what they sent me but it's waiting to be picked up at the ups place, i really hope i got a whole new sealed deal...

yeah to all, and i agree, i love riding with my e500's, but it's just a damn pain in the ass, the pth is usefull, but i find that it just doesn't amplify enough.. and i don't like not being able to hear anything. so with iem's i only ride with one ear in, and i hate it. i think i might try that...

I"m an industrial design major,, and it absolutely ashames me that a few of my classmates wear them,,,, i say wear because obviously their function is not one of sound quality, but rather one of fashion, i try to be respectful, but they absolutely sound like crap, diaretic bass and no control...
