LG G2 Mini-Review
Well latest reply in the world, but i had actually stopped using my phone as my music player for a while because i just gave up with the glitchy audio. Recently though, i think Neutron may have had an update because now the glitchy-ness is completely gone. My phone definitely sounds very good...- blackmarket

JVC FXD80 vs FXT90 vs RHA MA750i
I have both the FXT90 and the SE215 (although the limited blue ones) and both are completely fine unamped. Out of your list of 3 earphones, I've only heard the FXT90, but I can say that they are definitely well worth the price. You most likely will not have problems with fit as most medium...- blackmarket

Review by 'blackmarket' on item 'Topping D3 USB&Optical&Coaxial&BNC DAC black'
I bought this DAC/AMP to replace my Asus Xonar Essence ST because I needed the PCI slot that the sound card was taking up so I was looking to switch to an external solution. I was mainly looking around the 200-399$ range and considered stuff like O2 and even the Asus Xonar STU because I quite...- blackmarket

Audioengine d1 sounds like onboard laptop source?
Not true. I actually used to have a Toshiba laptop with harmon/kardon branding on it and the speakers were actually really good considering they were laptop speakers. Much better than a lot of those cheap 2.0 speakers. The headphone out was also pretty good as well. Decently amped, could drive...- blackmarket

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones Part II
That's like saying i feel sorry for you for thinking that (insert headphone) is the best headphone because people here on head-fi says it sounds good. Audio is pretty subjective so different people have different tastes in sound. Don't understand why we can't all just respect each others'...- blackmarket

Looking for headphones that leak sound in, but does not leak out

Looking for headphones that leak sound in, but does not leak out
well from the criteria you've laid out, it sounds like you're looking for some supraaural (on-ear) headphones. they tend to not create that good a seal (for me anyways) so they should leak sound in and probably not too much out, though to be honest i don't have a single pair of supraaural...- blackmarket

LG G2 Mini-Review
I had originally said that the G2 sounds like crap, but I've finally got it to sound actually really good (well i guess i should say that i got it to sound like most other normal DAP's). Normally the soundstage is super compressed sounding making the G2 sound very terrible, but i played around...- blackmarket

No different between "High-End" Equipment and Onboard audio?
First video the guy claims equalizers kill headphones and that you shouldn't colour sound with software. Second video he's all for equalization... This guy....- blackmarket

ATH-M50's don't sound that much better than white apple earbuds?
I'm going to assume you're using apple earPODS. Those aren't actually that bad. The slightly older apple earbuds aren't that bad either actually. The M-50 are also slightly over-rated headphones because they're so popular and most headphones that are popular are going to proportionately have...- blackmarket

Beyerdynamic COP USB amplifier
If you're looking to get the DT990, you should also look into the DT880. There's been many a debate as to which is the truly better, and they're both around the same price. The E10 is probably enough for most 250ohm headphones, but it doesn't have a microphone-in socket so you'll have to run the...- blackmarket

Beyerdynamic COP USB amplifier
you should consider what your priority is first. do you want really good sound with a mic attached for occasional use? if so, then get a nice pair of headphones like the ones mentioned here with some form of dac/amp and get something like a desktop mic or a ModMic. however, if you're going to be...- blackmarket

LG G2 Mini-Review
I have a G2 and i have to say i think it sounds like crap. Soundstage is pretty compressed as OP noted and it just overall has a kind of weird sound signature that I'm not fond of. I wouldn't exactly describe it as cold/analytical either. Guess i'm sticking to my ipod video. Also why does...- blackmarket

In search of replacment Monster Turbine filters
the filter isn't really replaceable, pretty sure they're glued on. you could try dipping them in hydrogen peroxide and letting them sit a for a while to disintegrate the earwax but make sure you don't dunk the whole earphones in, just dip the nozzle with the filter in.- blackmarket

screw Beats, ATH m50s rule! But some people don't seem to think so...
why try to convince them? i'm quite sure most people buy beats for the look and not the sound. If they like the way it looks, then good for them. Some people also like the way beats sound, i mean what if i told you i think M-50's sound like crap? you'd probably deny it, but that's EXACTLY how...- blackmarket

Passive centre speaker for surround
I'm looking to replace the centre speaker in my surround sound set-up. It's a passive speaker that was bundled in one of those home theatre surround packages that i bought around 10 years ago. Do i have to replace it with a passive speaker specifically labeled for centre or can i just use any...- blackmarket

Why the Beats Hate?
wellp we're all hipsters so we gotta hate on the mainstream stuff. i absolutely hate apple products(mainly their computers i suppose), reason being is that they are way overpriced and when i go to lectures all i see is a wall of macbook panels. now someone who owns an apple product is gonna post...- blackmarket

What 2.0 speaker should i get?
The fostex PMO.4n are right at 199$ for a pair and i heard that they're quite good. If you can find them, there's a new version, the PMO.4d. I've been looking around, but can't seem to find them for sale yet.- blackmarket

Better cables = better sound?
I also was skeptical once of upgrading cables because everyone has such varying opinions about them so i decided to just take the plunge and decide for myself. I bought an aftermarket silver cable for my iems and before i switched the cables i listened to my pair of iems for a couple days... -
Deciding on a 2.1 system for my computer.
I don't really see how someone could say the SP2500 is lacking in bass. Actually any decent 2.1 setup for that matter; I mean, you have a dedicated subwoofer. I have the Klipsch Promedia 2.1, the newer one that I believe has a weaker sub(?), and I have the bass dial turned down to less than 1/4...- blackmarket

[GUIDE] Sonic Differences Between DT770-DT990 Models & More
I have the DT770 32ohm (2012 LE) and i'm just wondering if/how switching to velour pads will affect the sound signature. I already find these to be very bassy (can't imagine how bassy the 80ohm would be if it's much bassier) but the mids are a bit recessed and the treble a bit bright. Would...- blackmarket
