The Fiio X5 Thread
I'm wondering about the acceleration scrolling wheel feature too. I only have ~400 songs. I know you can scroll down to through the list a-z, and up for z-a, so you only need to scroll a maximum distance of half the list's size to find your song, but it already takes a while to scroll through a...- z7nz

VSonic GR07 Bass Edition Impressions
I think the BE is actually better for your music taste. As Matt said, it only adds a little sub bass, and everything else is the same. Just give your BE some burn in (~100 hours) if time permits and see if you like its bass. Some people find the MK2 doesn't have enough bass so they wish to get...- z7nz

VSonic GR07 Bass Edition Impressions
I used to listen to the BE through my Galaxy Nexus and crappy laptop output, 320/128 kbps MP3s, and it's still very good to be honest. I'd still listen that way if I didn't need a more powerful source for my Beyer headphone. Before the 07be I had Vsonic GR02be and VSD1. If you're coming from...- z7nz

This'll sound like a dumb question but I'm just wondering if you plug it in the right spot. It happened to me when I mistook the headphone output with the coaxial output- z7nz

The Beyerdynamic DT880 Discussion thread
I listen to Rock/Metal. I find the DT880 brighter than other hp I try, but not unbearable. I tried Vmoda-100, HD600, HD650 and end up liking the DT880 & HD600. They're very enjoyable for these genres. very satisfy that I bought this hp. Except for this 1 pop song though, I had to take the hp...- z7nz

VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread
They also announce: "For those who are curious, the GR07 Classic sound signature is closer to the first version of the GR07" So that clears up the question many people have: GR07 Classic is closer to GR07 MK1 than MK2- z7nz

The Beyerdynamic DT880 Discussion thread
Check out the JDS Labs ODAC / C5D, Fiio E07k / E17 / E18. And many people here like stacking Schiit Modi + Vali. Personally I'm using the Fiio X3, its main purpose is a music player, but still have a DAC+AMP option to plug in to your laptop. I have the Lenovo T430. My 880/250 can go really loud...- z7nz

VSonic GR07 Bass Edition Impressions
Better treble and bass extension. A little less midbass which leads to clearer sound and better instrument separation. Wider soundstage. In my opinion the VSD1 doesn't sound like the GR07be at all. Good news that I just saw LMUE announces they have some GR07be back on sale. AFAIK, They offer...- z7nz

I listen to my DT880/250 at 1/3 volume level on high, and 1/2 volume level on low gain. So the X3 has plenty of power to drive those.- z7nz

Can you describe how you cleaned it? Did you open up the nozzle to reach the drivers? I want to open up the GR07 to clean but I'm afraid I may break the driver- z7nz

That's good to hear. I don't want to jump to >$400 price range for a DAP. So X5 and X3k are great options for me. The firmware is still buggy, but I want to continue using Fiio's for the slimmer design + sound quality + pricewise + great customer interaction- z7nz

Sometimes I look at the X3 to check the time too, it's an old habit since I used to play music through my phone. I doubt this function would be implemented though. I believe the X3 needs a clock battery to keep track of the time while staying off (like batteries that laptop/pc have). I don't...- z7nz

I think the volume also depends on file types. I play 16/44.1 flac at low gain 17-22, while 24/192 at low gain 21-27. But yeah, 30-35 would be really loud for me. I only reach that level with my DT880 250 Ohms: 27-33 low gain for 16/44 flac, and 32-40 for 24/192- z7nz
