I have the Burson Conductor with both the SABRE DAC and the PMC DAC. The PMC DAC is an excellent match as it offers a very analog "meaty" sound. I find the HD800 a surgical headphone so the Conductor really sweetens the sound.

I would reccomend the HD600 as the start and end of your audio search. Add a cheap tube amp like the little dot mkiii and you will not need anything else. I'm saying this after selling my suggested set-up and getting the HD800 and the Burson Conductor amp and the sound difference is small...

At least for the USB cable, I never felt it did one lick of difference. I can feel the difference between various RCA and even power cord cables but I never felt that the Usb cable has any audio advantage

Maybe you did not install it properly. Lift it up, check the legs/pins and put it back again.

My advice would be to circumvent the USB slot entirely (ignore the Tenor or the CM board) and solely use the Coax or Optical slots. Same here for me loving the AD900 above the HD800. For the AD900 even though the bass is missing significantly, the soundstage and the actual female voice magic is incredible. Just check the song Little Dragon -Twice and you'll hear what I mean :)

Be smart and get the Burson Conductor with the PCM 1793 board installed. For me and my HD800 is the best possible choice and everything is in a single box. If you do not have the cash, get the Conductor SL 1793 instead. You'll not experience a more "real" sound in this price range.

Has anyone thought of changing the Fuse of the Conductor to a more high quality one? I read in a polish review that this changes the sound in a big way.
