I've spent about $3700 on headphones alone, another 2.2k on amps/dac. Its an expensive hobby!

I guessed it right on the first try. The percussion gave it away, the 320 was more full and open.

I would definitely claim this under warranty.

Well, I followed the advice given and moved my earcups forward. I notice a difference, but I think its mostly because I'm analyzing the sound now instead of just listening to the music. HD650s are dark and I like it like that.

my 650s buzzed, turned out to be defective. My new pair has NO buzz at all.

I burned in my hd650s with the bass boost always on my PPA with no problems. You said there is no distortion so I wouldn't sweat it too much.
