Sennheiser Amperiors?
Wow.. just got these from DAHMART off of Amazon for $205 (refurbished but look brand new) and they sound amazingly well without an amp. I've been using the HD25-1 ii for about a year and a half and my initial impressions of the Amperiors so far is that the sound is much more refined and cleaner...- ates

Quote: I'm at 50-60hrs. of usage and the clamping force does loosen after a while, you just got to keep wearing it or stick it on a box with your head width whenever not in use. I hated them at first, but it does get tolerable with usage. I probably wouldn't stick it over a heat source...- ates

beats studio vs sennhesier HD 25
I actually prefer my m50's for listening to trance/electronica. I use my HD25's for mixing or for portable use.- ates

E11, a new start of FiiO's portable amp ( added some real photo )
Yes the eq setting increases the lower end without disturbing the upper frequencies. I have mine on turned off though, I think it's perfect.- ates

beats studio vs sennhesier HD 25
Go for the hd-25 if you dj and listen to trance. The hd-25's have tight/ punchy bass which makes beat matching precise, I also dj and noticed a lot of cleaner transitions in my mixes. The bass is non overwhelming so you can still hear your mids and highs. The isolation is also insanely good to...- ates

Closed cans with forward sound and sparkly highs?
Check out the shure 940. I had a chance to listen to them briefly at GC and the upper frequencies were very forward, clean, crisp, and sharp. The lower end was very lean and felt like extended bass as opposed to bass that is punchy.- ates

Do you guys know if there's a substantial amount of SQ improvement from initial wearing? I've put in 20-30hrs. so far in 2weeks and I'm not quite liking the sound. It just seems a bit harsh sounding and not as detailed/seperated as I hoped for.- ates

Audio Technica ATH M50 vs Ultrasone HIFI 580 Vs Denon AH D1100 vs Sennheiser HD25-1 ii vs AKG K181??
I have the ATH-M50 and the HD25-1. Of the two I would recommend the HD25-1, the sound stage is smaller, but it is much punchier and right in your ear, the mids are pronounced as well. With the m50 the sound is much further from you and the mids being recessed make it even worse. The HD25-1 fail...- ates

Velour/Felt Pads for ATH-M50?
Quote: No cutting or gluing involved. You just pull off the pads and the foam insert and put the DT250 pads on, there's not much more to it. I would keep looking for the DT250 velour pads because I felt the same way. I think people are exaggerating the bass issue. I've painfully...- ates

Velour/Felt Pads for ATH-M50?
Jetsfool, you remove the stock pads and foam insert and replace them with the DT250's. It literally takes about 5mins. I highly recommend them because the stock pads (due to sweat) were intolerable/uncomfortable to me. The DT250 pads also fit like the stock ones and I honestly don't think it...- ates

Velour/Felt Pads for ATH-M50?
I replaced my stock pads with the DT250. I think it still sounds amazing. The soundstage and bass widened, and the mids slightly increased. And it is much more comfortable as the stock pads made me ears sweat.- ates
