Upgrading from UM2. Dilemma of the week is choosing UM3X or IE8

I just got mine (UM3x) the other day and was the proud owner of UM2s until last year. I would say that they are a VERY worthy upgrade to the UM2 and I have yet to find a genre of music that isn't helped by their balance and clarity. I must confess though that they sound at the peak with...

    Westone 3 vs Westone UM3X

I hear that, and I see your point. I put in an order today for a pair so hopefully I can contribute to the general consensus on these new IEMs! Let's carry on then, shall we?

    The $150-200 IEMs thread

@ S_nyc. I belive in your original post that you mentioned that you would consider a new DAP if you were told that the nano could be beat by something else. I don't know if you're still interested, but I can HIGHLY recommend sony's current line of players. I personally have the NWZ-A829, but...

Anyone else having durability issues with Sleek Audio SA6?

TheMarchingMule, I actually had the SAME exact problem one time. It frustrated the hell out of me namely since I spend about an hour a day lifting weights but yet I couldn't remove a tiny piece of plastic from my earphones...it was not only frustrating but also a blow to my self-esteem On a...

Anyone else having durability issues with Sleek Audio SA6?

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. I'll shoot him an email and let y'all know what happens. And no, I haven't been using the tip remover, since one was not provided when I purchased mine. Also, I noticed that it didn't take much force to remove the treble tubes this time, which definitely concerns me...

Anyone else having durability issues with Sleek Audio SA6?

Hey guys, I'm regretfully reporting what I hope for the sake of Sleek Audio is an isolated incident limited to my own experience. I bought the SA6s in mid-March and LOVE their sound. Well about a month after buying them I noticed that one of the phones sounded different from the other in a way...

Any reason to buy Sony A810 instead of A726?

I'm holding my A829 in my hands right now and I believe that almost the entire back of the player, excluding the very top, is made of some sort of metallic alloy. The front where the buttons are appears to made of the same alloy. You probably wouldn't notice this until the unit becomes cool...

    Sony Announced NWZ-A820 series.....finally 16GB Sony DAP's

cn11, where did you get yours from? I've had mine on preorder for about 2 weeks now. I was under the impression that that specific model is on back order both by sony and by any other store that carries it. Thanks!

    Sony Announced NWZ-A820 series.....finally 16GB Sony DAP's

just pre-ordered myself a cheap a829 from vanns, thank you SOOO much for finding that price! Maybe that will be the new standard price??? I also have absolutely no idea why the 729 is more expensive. I can't wait!

    Sony Announced NWZ-A820 series.....finally 16GB Sony DAP's

I actually do know how properly turn it off, but the thing is that I usually go to sleep w/ music, so that's why a sleep timer or decent battery life is that much more important to me. I also am not one to charge my player everyday so that's why it matters to me.

Hey guys, I know this may not seem important, but it is for me. Does this new player have a sleep timer? I hate to waste battery life, and I'd really like to have this function. Thanks!

Another big THUMBS UP for the Sleek Audio SA6

Ok, so I've never been good at giving technical reviews of audio equipment, but what I lack in description, I will make up to all of you in honesty. The SA6s sound just plain awesome, that's about it. And by plain, I don't mean dull, I mean that in my opinion there's zero argument that even...

Sleek Audio = Best Customer Service EVER

I'm dying to get my second pair tomorrow. They already sound GREAT even though one of the drivers may be faulty so I just can't wait to hear these babies full force. I can't wait to pick up a Sony NWZ-A729 especially after reading that review today...

Sleek Audio = Best Customer Service EVER

Even though my SA6s aren't working at 100% I've still noticed things like you guys have mentioned. Especially on live tracks such as daft punk: Alive 2007. Also studio snare drum hits sound VERY intense. This is the first time I've been able to listen to an MP3 player w/o EQ and not be angry...

Sleek Audio = Best Customer Service EVER

Hey all, just thought I'd post a fantastic experience I just had with Jason over at Sleek Audio. So my SA6s arrived to day and like a giddy little boy I opened up the package and immediately started playing with them. I inserted the Bass+ and Treble+ tips after a little bit and I thought there...

    Almost enough money to upgrade...finally.

I don't have photos of it, but I'm sure you're bound to find a couple on the net. The great thing about them is that they work equally well in front and behind. They've got a memory wire near the earphones that are quite pliable so if you decide you would rather not wear them behind the ear, you...

    Almost enough money to upgrade...finally.

Hey there! Well, I can speak from experience on the Atrio M5s. They are without a doubt the best value on IEMs that you'll find on the market at the moment. Their bass is ridiculously detailed and DEEP and they are particularly fantastic for Metal (I have oodles of metal). Bass drum kicks slam...

    Sony Announced NWZ-A820 series.....finally 16GB Sony DAP's

That is quite strange! (or lucky depending on how you look at it) I talked to Sleek Audio to ask them about the wireless setup they plan to release and it looks like it won't be BT (at least not at first) due to battery drain issues. Maybe I should be looking at the 729 instead. If there were a...
