Hey all, just thought I'd post a fantastic experience I just had with Jason over at Sleek Audio. So my SA6s arrived to day and like a giddy little boy I opened up the package and immediately started playing with them. I inserted the Bass+ and Treble+ tips after a little bit and I thought there was something with the seal in my right ear so I played with it for about 5 minutes and realized that maybe I had finally gotten tinnitus...So just to be safe I used those handy-dandy detachable cables and switched the sides. Lo and behold, it was actually the earphone that was the problem, not my ears thank God. All the high and mid frequencies were there, just barely any bass. So I emailed Jason and within 10 minutes I got a reply. We exchanged emails for another 20 min at such a rapid rate I'd swear I was on instant message with the guy! Finally we concluded that the problem was indeed with one of the earphones and he got my address and phone number. when I asked him when I should expect them, he said that shipping had already sent them out!!! This is without a doubt the BEST customer service I've ever received and probably will ever receive. So if any of you still have any doubts, hopefully they will now quickly fade away after knowing that the owner of this company is not only friendly, but also very fair and trusting! Go Sleek Audio!

Good to hear it. Jason will have to clone himself if Sleek takes off in the general public as they have on Head-Fi to some extent. Either that or keep the initial problems at a bare minimum

. Glad it got all worked out, because I am listening to the SA6s right now (Caroline, No from Pet Sounds) via the Sony A816 and they are really a fun, detailed phone. Never heard that little bass line (in the right channel) before. Nice.

So, even the Atrio's didn't pick that bassline up??

Can't say the Atrios missed it, but just never noticed it before, and I love that track. So maybe I was just listening closer this time, but doubtful. It's not the main bassline in the song, but a little bass play now and again. If you have the track, check it out. Just caught my ear, so to speak.

I've noticed this sort of thing with my SA6, too; with such effortless detail and separation, it really lets those little, undiscovered flourishes come through. The SA6 truly is a "rediscovering your music" type of earphone (for me).

I get that too.... There's some electronic music that I listen to that has crazy imaging, and on one track a repeated triangle tick is thrown waaayyyy outside the normal soundstage (well, normal for them!) which sometimes makes me yank an earphone out and check if a phone is ringing in my office! There's also just the way they handle treble detail- it's amazing. It is so detailed, yet separated & distinct, yet not harsh in the least. Love them every day, and I use them upwards of 5 or 6 hours at work while working on my design projects.

They also make a great tool to tune out all the idiotic corporate banter that goes on ouside your office... We have several of these young, sorority gal types that have some sort of power trip- like they have things to prove- and talk at ridiculous levels. One of them has this grating gravelly frog-like voice, and she's the loudest.... when she's debating something, or just chit-chatting outside my office I just put in the SA6's and turn up my music and just watch her mouth go to town, with no sound- glorious!!

Even though my SA6s aren't working at 100% I've still noticed things like you guys have mentioned. Especially on live tracks such as daft punk: Alive 2007. Also studio snare drum hits sound VERY intense. This is the first time I've been able to listen to an MP3 player w/o EQ and not be angry about it. Maybe I will be getting a Zune 80 after all...

Guess we sound like a bunch of slobbering fools, but the SA6s just deliver. And BullMoose, I use the EQ with the SA6s on the Sony DAP, tick the Clear Bass up a little, and they sound great with that player too. So either or on the EQ works pretty well.

Zune80 and SA6 are the perfect combination.

After two weeks of using the SA6 exclusively, I got back my UE11's (sent them in for an artwork overhaul). In the big SA6 thread, I mentioned how I preferred the SA6 sound to the UE11. I prefer it even more now.

Agree on Zune80 and SA6.

I still am blown away that you prefer the SA6s over the UE11s. I have never even tried anything on that price level, but it makes me feel pretty good about my Sleek purchase. I mean, it takes a lot of honesty to say you prefer a $250 earphone over an $1000-plus phone. Most people would not admit it. Wow is all I can say.

I'm dying to get my second pair tomorrow. They already sound GREAT even though one of the drivers may be faulty so I just can't wait to hear these babies full force. I can't wait to pick up a Sony NWZ-A729 especially after reading that review today...
