Are there different types of burn-ins?

I have the Pro 900 and I listen to mostly to drum and bass and house.   Without entering the discussion rather burn-in is real or not, I'll just tell what I experienced.   The Pro 900 changed a lot in the process (maybe it was a position issue, drivers not well-aligned, etc), but I...

Thanks for the impressions. I guess I'll check the M-100 once they're released in Europe

    V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

Has anyone compared the M-100 to the Ultrasone Pro 900? From what I've read, the M-100 share the same sound signature as the Pro 900 (perhaps with less sharp highs?). I wonder if they would be a good portable alternative for the Pro 900 (as much as I love them, they are too big for everyday use IMO)

Yeah, I tried that too, and had the same problem (plugging the phone to my Fiio amp).   I recently got the V-moda LP2 (and I use the audio cable, with no remote control), and this one doesn't get disconnected from my phone. I don't know if the headphone jack is different, but I'm glad it...

Quote: Please, choose Paris!    I didn't pre-order the M100 mostly due to shipping costs and import taxes. Can't wait to find them here. And I'd also love to buy some custom shields for my LP2!

Any ideas on how to fix that? It's rather annoying. And a shame, because I really like this mobile phone.

Review by 'flavouz' on item 'V-MODA LP2'

Just got these headphones a couple of hours ago, and I'm writing this while listening to them out-of-the-box and unamped.   And since this is my first review, I hope you'll find it useful. And I'm trying to focus on the musical aspect, not really technical, especially because I'm not really...

New to classical music, Headphone advice please

I like the DT-660.. very detailed and clear.   There's a review of them for classical music here.   The only thing I don't like in these cans is the weight... it's heavy, and due to a very light clamping force, it gets uncomfortable after a couple of hours (you can feel it on top of your...

The Portable BASS kings..The Pioneer HDJ500 vs AKG 518 LE vs The first look at the new AT WS55 Solid Bass

Hey Dsnuts, how would you compare the sound of the Pioneers to the Crossfade LP2?   I haven't tested them, but I liked how you compared the sound of the Pioneers to the "club sound". I'm looking for a portable alternative to my Ultrasone Pro 900 (good bass, while still hearing details, etc)...

Sennheiser hd 380 pro vs hd 439

I've never tried these headphones, but the AKG K518DJ and Audio Technica SJ55 are good budget headphones IMO (they're both around 50 EUR, less than the HD 439, which goes for 89 EUR), though I'd say HD 439 would win comfort-wise (I had the HD 428 and 448, and both were very comfortable).

Quote: Do you have any problem with the headphone jack on your Xperia S?   I get lots of disconnections while walking (I keep my phone in my pants' front pocket). It's not that the headphone gets totally disconnected from the jack, but just a couple of milimeters, enough to make...

Upgrading from ATH-ES7 to ES10. Is it worth it?

I really like the Pro 900. I listen mainly to drum and bass and other bass-heavy genres, and the Pro 900 is perfect for that. It's also quite clear and the vocals are a bit laidback, but it sounds natural to my ears.   I think they're worth the price tag but they're not really portable (they...

The PANASONIC RP-HTF600-S headphones. More fun than the HD650?

Is there any comparison between the HTF600 and the Superlux HD 660? I've tried the Superlux and found the sound really good for a 38 euros headphone. I was wondering how the HTF600 would sound compared to it.

HD598's - Are they good for Heavy Metal/Rock/Deathcore/Dubstep?

Quote: I may be crazy, but I got to say sometimes I prefer to listen to house music (with vocals) on the HD598 over the Pro 900.   Even though I love the Pro 900, I think I'm not really a basshead (except when I listen to drum and bass and dubstep - which is most of the time )...

    Ultrasone Pro 900 Impressions Thread

I contacted Ultrasone, which forwarded my request to a french company, who ordered the earpads from Ultrasone  (I think Ultrasone doesn't ship outside Germany)   Edit: get the silver earpads if you can... they are really worth it! My Pro 900 looks really nice now    Quote:

HD598's - Are they good for Heavy Metal/Rock/Deathcore/Dubstep?

I know, I was referring to "my collection is mainly metal with some orchestral stuff". I think for metal you don't need bass impact (I don't like metal so much, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I think for metal bass quality is more important than bass impact) like you do with electronic music...

HD598's - Are they good for Heavy Metal/Rock/Deathcore/Dubstep?

I think you should check the HD598 for those genres. The soundstage is great, lots of details and the bass is deep when needed (it lacks impact but for metal and orchestral I think it's ok).   I use mine for classical music and music with vocals, and it does a great job (and ironically, I...

HD598's - Are they good for Heavy Metal/Rock/Deathcore/Dubstep?

I use my Pro 900 with no amp and DAC here at work (for the record, it's the new Mac Pro - the desktop, not laptop) and with the E7 / E9 plugged in a laptop at home, and to me, there's a lot of difference in the sound.   The problem with that advice is that you won't know what you're missing...

HD598's - Are they good for Heavy Metal/Rock/Deathcore/Dubstep?

From my experience, the Pro 900 really need an amp. Without one, the bass has a lot less of impact, not so deep; highs are harsh, and overall, it doesn't sound like a 400 euros headphone.   If you're planning to get the Pro 900s, get an amp and enjoy them in their fullness.   Quote...

HD598's - Are they good for Heavy Metal/Rock/Deathcore/Dubstep?

If you want a portable amp < $100, the E11 is a good choice. The E7 is a really good DAC, but as an amp, it's quite weak.
