Help, wanted to buy the AD700x but kinda skeptical after visiting rtings.com

I believe there actual measurements are accurate but the write ups are definitely subjective. I also believe they make some sort of profit for promoting sales for specific products. I wouldn't really trust them that much.

    Best high end closed set

Also should have added that none of those choices are low profile. In a working environment I try to wear low profile headphones to still look professional.

    Best high end closed set

I personally would look for something on the lighter side. All of your choices are pretty heavy and bulky.

New IEMs that I should be looking into

I was just hoping to try something new. I haven't purchased any headphones in a long time and just wanted to see if anything new was going to blow my mind (given that it has all the other features I want).

New IEMs that I should be looking into

I liked the the comfort, isolation, convenience of switching cables to Bluetooth, and the bass. Otherwise I thought they were a solid all around headphone and I didn't want to pay way more money for marginal gains from the rest of the Shure line.

New IEMs that I should be looking into

Hello everyone, I've been kind of out of the headphone scene for awhile and need to pick up a new pair of iems. I just wanted some quick recommendations. My price range is somewhere around 300, I'm just going to be running it mostly from my phone (pixel 3), and I listen to indie rock and...

    Best alternative headphones to HD600?

What you need is a different style of headphones. Something like the audio technica ad700 (but not specifically these). I had to look around a bit for something that was actually comfy and sounded good myself but having those extra pad below the headband helps a lot. Personally the most...

Looking to upgrade to planar magnetic headphones, with bass

I would recommend the ultrasone edition 8. It has plenty of bass and is sold on the BST for cheaper than any of the other options you listed. It will give you something new and different to try.

    Sony v55 or Pioneer HDJ-500

I'm actually a big fan of the HDJ-500. They are relatively easy to carry when traveling, look pretty good, and are very durable. I tried the sony's and was not a fan. I thought they weren't as comfortable, and didn't sound as good as the pioneers.

Sony, Bose, Beats or Plantronics ?

I was a fan of the sony 1000x's. They seem to have really good build quality, and I thought their noise cancelling was top notch.

Cool comfy ?on-ear? headphones for office use

I would recommend the Isine10 haven't heard them, but they sound like something that would fit your categories. They are small iems, that are open sounding, and can be had for about 400 usd.

Recommend me some headphones up to around £700/$850

Why not hunt on the BST for some grado Bushmills. They are closed and have the grado sound.

    AMP/DAC for HD650

I would probably recommend the modi multibit, and then look in the BST for a different amp.

Recommendation for some bluetooth IEM please ?

I tried some sonys a while ago I can't remember what model they were, but that would be my recommendation. They sounded pretty good to me personally.

    The Official Ultrasone Appreciation Thread!

Hoping to bring this back to life. Sorry for the necro couldn't find a more recent appreciation thread. Loving my Ultrasones, and wanted to see if anyone had tried the new edition 8 EX. Loved the edition 8 just wanted to find if it was worth it to upgrade.

Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro Limited Edition for FPS gaming

If you are going to mainly use it for gaming I would probably go for the game one for the convenience of the mic. Also the game one's will be easier to drive from your computer than the DT990's.

    Distortion from Little Dot Mkii

Try some different RCA cables there might be a short or something.

Should I upgrade my Headphones or buy an Amp/Dac?

They will probably be about the same. Not much difference between them. Higher Impedance means it needs more power to get louder, and higher decibels means it can get much louder. There isn't much difference in the numbers though.

    over the ear under 250usd

I would recommend any of the beyerdynamic headphones DT770, 880, or 990. Just make sure to get the low impedence versions.

Helping brother get speakers need help deciding

I would probably recommend the audioengine A2. They are a little cheaper than the rest and will sound almost as good as the other two.

Help me choose between these 4 headphones

Not many people will agree, but I kind of liked the sennheiser HD280 and didn't like the AKG k553. The price difference makes it way more appealing for people trying to enter the audio world as well. It runs about half the price if you wait for them to go on sale.

Should I upgrade my Headphones or buy an Amp/Dac?

I would recommend getting new headphones. Having something that is comfortable to listen to is the most important quality for me even over sound. It just make the listening experience way more enjoyable. If its not comfortable its not worth wearing to listen to.

Crackle on left ear with new MK II

I had the same issue with mine. I thought it might be a ground loop or something like that so you can test that out. Just plug it into its own outlet or powerstrip. In my case it just needed to run for a considerable amount of time. I left mine on and playing music for a day and it hasn't had...
