I know.  I know.  I really am way behind and I feel horrid about these the last two orders I have hanging including gelocks order.  I really feel terrible, but he's been so, so understanding and I really appreciate it.     I have undergone a huge change in my life with my two young daughters...

    post your grado mods....

@GermanGuy - this is just the most novel and interesting mod I've seen in a very long time.  Just really neat.  So odd, yet the most creative and outside of the box audio device I've seen.   If I find the time, I need to try this.  I think I have some spare 80's drivers sitting around.  You...

Symphones Magnum upgrade for Grado SR325 and Alessandro MS2

Anyone know how to get ahold of Rhydon?  His old email address (rhydon@symphones.ca) isn't working.

I really like the way those look man.  They have an industrial/contemporary look that's pretty eye-catching.

    Grado Fan Club!

Ahhh.  I've actually been waiting for at least one person to just email me to say if they don't like it.  I've been wondering if it works for most people or not.     I'll be changing it back.   Sorry about that.   -Marty

    Audeze LCD2 wood versus Humidity

It's not the humidity you should worry about, but rather the lack of humidity or dry conditions.  I work with many different types of exotic woods and most are pretty unstable (not completely dry), so if it's too dry (like in the winter for me) and the wood doesn't have a protective finish, the...

Sorry to hear that.  Yes, the true FWJ (the wood/metal gimbals built from scratch) require occasional maintenance.  If the driver is starting to get loose, there are several ways to handle it.  You can purchase a sheet of peel away foam from your local craft store and cut another...

Nice blog Keat.  I'll try to link it to my blog when I get a chance.  Those turned out so nice and to think those gimbals and blocks were my first ever set and came back to me all the way from Singapore (I think?) for repair and then all the way back to you.    Rodblocks/Gimbals are finally...

Decware Appreciation Thread (MT review up on first page 2-10-12)

Hey guys.  I'm really interested in the Mini Torrii with headphone jack.    Question 1: Can someone give me a total price paid including shipping to the USA?  I sent a message last Thursday, I believe, and I haven't heard back yet.   Question 2: Currently, my interface is a ASUS Xonar...

Hey fellas, Still looking at about 3-4 weeks lead time on the gimbals.     @Chris,  I'll give some thought into the rodblock/gimbal package.  It's a tough one, cause often people want the wood to match or contrast in a certain way with their can cups.  So it would be tough matching the...

They'll be offered in black, copper, coffee brown and I think a few sets will be black with silver hardware.  At least this is the intention right now.     The length and diameter of the rods is identical to the rods on the plastic Grado gimbals. I have an average size head and with a normal...

Thanks guys!  FWJ #005 and now #006 are my favorites without a doubt.     I'll post more info on the blog as I get an idea of the price and finishing touches on the gimbals.  For one thing, the thumb screws will have shorter caps so they won't protrude quite as far.  I'm also working on a...

Grado sr225i - Sitting outside in 30F temp, should I let them sit inside for a few hours before first use?

You're pretty much safe from breaking them before letting them warm up.  Basically it's a magnet, magnet wire, and a mylar diaphragm.  The only thing I can think of that could break if it was cold enough would be the glue holding the mylar in place over the magnet and magnet wire or the glue...

Headphone amp with optical in needed.

Without taking the time to look up those amps price ranges, I'd recommend the Peachtree Nova. Fantastic DAC and Amplifier for around $800 used. Using a Creative X-Fi Titanium as the interface makes really nice noises. I'd spend more on this up front then upgrade your cans in a few months.
