Two things you can try: remove the sticker on the bass port, and apply it again, but only covering the bass port partly.   Or use tape and poke holes in it, as ThurstonX suggested.

It's a pitty that there's still no measurements around. Has anybody had a chance to directly compare a modded K 701 with a higher-class model (T1, HE 600, HD 700 or 800)?

Thanks for all the feedback. Now we only need to get this mod measured. I've already written Tyll Hertsen when posting the mod here, and he said he might measure it when he finds the time. Maybe if some more people asked him, he could be more tempted to do it.
