OK I strongly disagree with you.    No manufacturer is under ANY obligation to tell you about anything that is coming out when you make a purchase. There's nothing unethical about what's happened here.

It appears to be available on the Amazon UK site. It costs more just because its coming from the UK but its definitely better than the OEM V-moda cable in my opinion. I was one of the lucky ones who got it for a steal before they ran out in the US. 

  I listened to the ATH-WS9 and if you needed to use a bass reducer on that, then you'll need to on the M100's for sure. At that point, you probably should go another (cheaper) route. I personally love the M100 sound and I think its a great overall HP but there's no denying its bass presence...
