Where to find premade circuits for mounting in custom cabinet?
It has been years (20 to be exact) since I took an electronics class. I want to build a small custom amp for $$$ reasons, but don't feel my skills are up to snuff to solder together a circuit. What I am good at though is wood work as I am a woodshop teacher and I want to build a custom cabinet...- mahkook

OR & CA Head-fi's: Anyone have a source for an old Unisaw or Powermatic Tablesaw?
I have been in a futile search for the last year to find an old cabinet style table saw that I could purchase for my home woodshop. I teach woodshop at North Bend High School and have old Unisaws there for the students. I want to find one like them so that I can have it at home for a number of...- mahkook

What does "Digipak" mean when buying CD's?
I hit a term a few times that means nothing to me and I finally decided to ask about it. The term "digipak" that they put after the title of a CD in listings on Amazon, half.com, and eBay... Can anyone explain this one to me? There is a CD on eBay that is closing Thursday like this and I would... -
Watches - another passion of ours, it seems...post your pics!
I posted before about my collection of Wile E. Coyote watches, but have since then added several new ones. I have also figured out how to host my pictuers on my charter web page and so can now show much better pictures of them all. There are at least 4 or 5 more out there that I know of but...- mahkook

any good *free* WMA to MP3 converters out there?
I have a delima... I have ripped about 700+ CD's yielding somewhere in the neighborhood of 10,000 tracks into my computer (and Yes, I do own the CD's!) I used 128 bit WMA format for the collection as that sounded good for my purposes as a jukebox to play my music in my woodshop and as background...- mahkook

ever received a different item from what you bought?
I ordered a car alarm setup from JC Whitney +3 relays. After an eternity in shipping, I got the alarm and 3 12V probes instead. I checked the item numbers and discovered that they were one number different. I was billed for 3 parts at $5 each, got 3 extreemly useful probes valued at $60 each...- mahkook

Help me pick an lcd monitor
I have had some luck with LCDs through ecost.com. I just bought a Princeton 19 inch LCD for $400 and since then I have seen it even cheaper on the site. They now have some 17 inch for $200 I think. Shipping is free. I bought the Princeton to get the DVI input and wasn't blown away with the...- mahkook

I just bought an old school!!!!
Yep... still have the RV and Manufactured home park (recently expanded by 18 new upscale RV sites for a total of 88 rv sites and 50 home sites) and I still teach woodshop at the highschool. The park isn't going anywhere, but at least we won't be living "in" our work anymore. I will also be...- mahkook

I just bought an old school!!!!
Well, last night was a blast. We let the kids in on the 6 month secret finally and they were ectastic! Primarily it was the idea of a gymnasium all to themselves that they were the most jazzed about. Our oldest daughter (12) was repeating "I don't believe you..." for the first 15 minutes until I...- mahkook

Any way to LOCK windows from new installs? Kids killing my computers!
I have heard all the worst about ME, but I have never had any problems with it as an OS. I prefer it to 98se for the multimedia improvements and easier compatibility with USB devices. The computers usually run pretty barebones and don't have much more than a few programs on them. I have...- mahkook
